Hi, I wonder if there is a plugin that allows admins to see the screen of the players? A kind of admincam? It would be really useful against cheaters. sorry for my bad english
Not that I know of and it sounds like a terrible idea.
Well, I never heard of one yet. But probably Garry will integrate something like that later.
There was something like this when I used to play pto tournament css matches. It ran everytime you played the game and took random ingame screenshots which were submitted for analysis. This was a pro tournament for thousands of dollars not just another online game. I don't think its necessary. Cheaters are obvious. If someone is running an aimbot and has all other toggles disabled you'll never know.
That would be nice to have
There is one in GMOD. It's called Screen Grab. But it only take a screenshot to see if they are using a hack. Which is very useful. I do think this is a good idea.
I think screenshots are ok, but not an "admin cam".... Too many ways that could be abused, I like my privacy and I respect the players on my server privacy.... Horrid idea I think....
We could see if they cheats for use only in case of suspicion. I still just ban two players, the first connection and 5 min after I check their inventory with the plugin and viewinv? Explosive 5, 9 explosive charge, 250 rock, 2xM4, Bolt etc .... You really do some thing against it! They just rot my server in my absence.
You think admin abuse is bad now? Thus will make it ten times worse. Imagine the server admin knowing exactly where in all of your bases your loot is and exactly what loot you have.
cheatpunch already does this. just let it do its job

It was a tad laggy, but it was better than spectating the player since hacks can detect spectators watching them, but not the Eye plugin. If they want to monitor their players through the player's view, that's fine. Nobody is forcing you to play there, if you don't like it, you can find another server.

if it wasn't for cheatpunch/vacban, i would recommend admins get an esp mod with a huge range. it works well when you recognize each other at the same time and they don't realize it, even better when you realize them sooner
I think a seperate tool, outside of the game would be good. Where admins could screen or follow the suspected hackers.

There are rules of manners. I think admins have to much possibilities already, to much room for abusing and to hard to restist for many of them.
I agree with ScreenGrab - it was great to use when I used to have TTT servers. Caught many cheaters using it. Would be nice to see something very similar in Rust Example of use; screengrab_player <name> <quality of image> screengrab_player garry 70 -Pop up appears of garry's screen capture with 70% quality (the lower the quality, the quicker it loads).
Cheating Death and PunkBuster have functionality like this, but both only worked on the old WON version of Half-Life and never on Source due to VAC.
X-ray was used in source engine.
I don't think a spectator type view will be implemented, they have the ability to spectate but not first person.

Admins are allowed to use any rules they see fit, but likewise they are free to have their servers roll up and die once any abuse comes to light.

Rust is working with Unity3D.
Oh yeah giving admins tools to catch hackers is a terrible idea... riiiigggghhhttttt
THIS idea is terrible IMO. Look around on the forums, there are countless admin abuse threads, it would be 50 times what it is now... I run a server and am completely against this type of tool. I can see the potential value in something like this, but I see more value for those admins out there that want to be asshats, and there are more of those than "good" admins right now. As it is now besides cheatpunch, vac, and the new system rolling out admins do have tools available to them. There are plugins that allow us to see inventories, items we can spawn that allow us to be invisible (besides the nameplate and sound of walking), and we can instantly teleport to whatever player we want. The tools are there, if used correctly that's all we need atm.

This is absolutely silly. It would be 100% the same as now at worst. I'm neither for or against this (yes I run my own server) but this would NOT increase the rate of cheating admins. An admin is either a cheater, or he isn't. Hyperbole yo.

Thinking about pro vs con here, I see more con........ Like I said, we have tools, more people need to learn how to use them.
Ghosting another players view would help me track down cheaters. I dont care where your base is because within 40 minutes of you putting it up 20% of the server knows where it is anyway. Besides I admin 100% of the time. I don't have a stash or a base with loot in it. Just a little tiny base with a bed in it on the outskirts of the map that I can suicide to.

Otherwise an admin who pays for his own server should have every tool available.

Because there are no admins. :v: But I think VAC/Cheatpunch/EasyCheat are doing a lot of work already.

Like I said before, I run my own server, and I am against this idea, that's my opinion, I wasn't bashing anyone that has a different opinion (there is already enough of that on the forums), and I stated my reasons for not supporting this idea. My biggest concern about it would be that I do like my privacy, in RL, and while I'm playing games, and I respect others privacy. IF something like this was ever made available the server should be required to have a notice that it is enabled. I don't like big brother looking over my shoulder in my real life, I for sure don't want a power hungry 15 year old with daddys credit card doing the same while I'm trying to have fun.
Please, do not put words in my mouth and never speak for me....
I never did that. That's just a general statement.
Not that I know of and it sounds like a terrible idea.
Have you played Rust? It's the only way to deal with the fact that ESP is always going to see admins. A true spectate mode is the only way to catch cheaters.
I never did that. That's just a general statement.
You quoted DenverDeCoY as he quoted and was talking to me... So yes, that is what you did... You have a habit of trolling, that's the only reason I said anything... If the "he" was "they", then it would have been different.
