Most building are rusted like the mining quarry, pump jack, sheet metal, etc. I think they shouldn't be rusted when you place them down only when they get rained on.
Please, they have enough problems keeping the animals from no clipping into bases n landscape.

Is it really though? the only thing I have ever heard about a backstory to rust was that apparently Garry hinted at something along the lines of a prison island.
