[Disclaimer]This is not me complaining, but rather, trying to keep good on topic discussions about further development
I recently have been taking a rather long break with Rust, having not played it since the last update before Christmas break. I'd played every patch before that, bug testing and shit like that. The development team is ready to start some new projects this year and I can't wait. With that being said, I've been avoiding playing Rust lately in hopes that a nice big and new update brings in the new 2015 year so that I can test again. Here is a list of the things (from the mindmap) that I want to see ASAP:
- Immersive environment sounds
- The Blueprint system
- Ore spawns moved to regular rocks
- Fishing(even placeholder)
- A weather system (I realize this one is a ways away but its gonna be SO EPIC)
Please keep your posts positive and about things you're excited to see(from the mindmap http://mind42.com/mindmap/7abd1334-d170-42e7-b869-f74010b9b143), and please ignore anyone trying to be a fear or hate monger. :words:
FEARR!! HATE!!!!! PUPPIES!!!!!!!
i think i'm most looking forward to traps. love weather and the new rock system, but happy to wait on them. would LOVE to be able to fish; as soon as that is on, you will see my hobo ass on a open foundation on the lakeside with a campfire fishing.
Blueprints look set to be making a return with the new Rad Towns. Going by the Twitter commit messages, I don't think we're very far off seeing it pushed into the main branch - could even be at some point over the next few days.
I want the game to be able to handle a LOT of entities, and when i look at mega towers i don't want to lag,l that just really frakkin bugs me, i want to be able to place heaps of lanterns and not lag the entire place so much that's its like wading through mud up to your neck. I don't care about anything else i just want to be able to build again without the gods awful lag.
I am starting to really like it again, (for me the game went downhill when they switched the building system over, but it's picking up again). Building is still the most fun for me, and I would like to see the gravity/stability not so bugged, (still seems pretty random where walls will stay up and where they fall down, stability factor is flawed). Also, I would like to see dead bodies stick around for a couple of minutes. Several times I have been killed by a wolf only 100m from my base, respawned and ran back to the body, only to see it disappear. Or I snipe someone with a bolt action from the top floor of my base, but the body disappears before I can run down the stairs... too quick...

an Organic Mechanical Mutant version of the Cirque Du Soleil
There's this weird jank that's plagued the game since the switch that bugs me so bad I can't play it. The viewmodel jitter that happens with the first person models makes me sick. Like makes my eyes hurt.
I keep checking to see if it gets fixed but I honestly haven't logged in to the game in months. I'm excited to see them reimplement the legacy map and features. I think that will give a better base for testing functionality and adding features, since that's the game we all fell in love with in the first place.
