Can you warn like 1 day before a wipe? Becuase if you do, then people can just spend all their ressources on guns and fight and have fun, but if you dont warn, then people will have much unused shit in their boxes that they dont get to use...
This is the alpha, there are map wipes like twice a month. Anyone who seriously does shit is an idiot currently. Much as I'd love to seriously play rust, there's no reason too for it keeps getting wiped, so the best thing to do is to screw around with M4s. Or run around naked holding a rock, that's an option too.
Sometimes, things break, and then its necessary to wipe the server. The development team most likely won't be able to predict when a wipe is necessary, and when it is, I don't think they will halt their developments so that you can run around with all your gear on, pewpew'ing people.
For this specific wipe - I (I think everyone) was able to keep things that they had in their inventory. If they would have warned me, I could have put my 3,000 metal fragments and my 300 wood planks in my inventory. But now I'm stuck with no base, running around with all of my misc. gear, I have 3 M4's on me and 6 shotguns.. lol (This sucks because yesterday was the first day I was going to really build in Rust, like ACTUALLY have a base, I had the mats, I was just going to log on and do it, and was never able to) :/
Apparently people on twitch knew it was coming and kept everything on them, surely a quick admin msg on the server (5mins before hand) wouldn't be so hard.
you people ever think they want the new players to be on even field with the pros at least twice a month? that way until the game is balanced they can throw the people who rule the server back to their naked roots
If there is wipes, everyone should know so that they could have stuff in their inventory, or that they wiped everyones stuff even the stuff in the inventory so that people cant as said put 3000 metal and tons of c4 in their inventory and have full kevlar...

I once had enough in my inventory to build a metal mansion, but the server wiped the next day. Never got to lay down a single metal foundation lol.
It would certainly be nice to know, but as others have stated, this is alpha testing and server wipes will be frequent and at unexpected times.
Just deal with it.
