Welcome to Tzung's Place. An US (East Coast) Oxide based server with custom loot tables, limited C4 and military equipment, and airdrops! To join, while in game hit F1, and type: net.connect 173.234.234.133:28055 Currently Implemented: - PvP & Sleepers - Oxide Server - 1/2 Craft so crafting completes twice as fast - Groups to create your own Clan - Door Sharing - Remover Tool (Use Pick Axe to remove things on your foundations to remove them.. great to clean up after you are raided) - Frequent Air Drops (Currently every hour as long as 10+ people are online) - Rare Military Grade Equipment: (9mm Pistol, P250, Shotgun, M4, MP5A4, Kevlar, Grenades, Explosive Charges, Shotgun Shells, 550 Ammo) - Custom Loot Tables and Air Drops (See Below) - Player run Market (See Below) Rare Military Equipment The following items are considered Military Equipment: 9mm Pistol, P250, Shotgun, M4, MP5A4, Kevlar, Grenades, Explosive Charges, Shotgun Shells, 550 Ammo. Military Equipment cannot be researched or crafted, and the blueprints don't drop. The main source of military equipment will be air drops, with some coming off of AI (red animals) and world containers. The Bolt Action Rifle is considered a primitive weapon. It is researchable, and craftable. 556 Ammo is rare, but will drop more than other Military Equipment to provide rounds for the BAR. Custom Loot Tables / Airdrops AI (red animals), and world containers have custom loot tables. Expect fewer blueprints and Pick Axes and lots more building materials, primitive weapons, food, etc. Military equipment is extremely rare but will drop occasionally from AI and weapon crates. Blueprints for Leather Armor and Metal Building parts will drop! Each Airdrop crate will be from 1 of 5 categories: Military, Explosives, Armor, Building Materials, or Food/Medical. Building Materials and Food/Medical will be the most common drops, with Military, Explosives, and Armor (Kevlar) being rare air drops. Market Kill creatures, get money. Kill players and get 25% of their money (being killed cost you 50%!). Use that money to buy items off of the Auction House. The economy is 100% player controlled. Need money? Post items for sale. For more information type /mhelp in game. (Note: Items with a space in their name need quotes around them when working with the market. ex: "Bolt Action Rifle".) Philosophy Server: One of my favorite games of all time is Ultima Online. That game in it's early days had a real sense of adventure and danger. Rust, even though a completely different genre and play style, captures that same feeling. I love Rust, especially the early game. But as a server matures it evolves into an environment that is extremely difficult for anyone to get a start on, or for a player to recover on after being raided. Generally a small group of players will end up on top (often friends of the Admin) who cannot be toppled due to an over abundance of top grade gear. My goal with my current implementation is to provide a more even playing field. I want military equipment to be rare, and losing it should really hurt. I don't want roving gangs of thugs in full Kevlar with M4s wiping anyone who dares try and gather wood without any fear of dying because they can simply respawn, grab more military equipment, and head right back out. My goal is to capture the adventure and danger of UO, but keeping the server accessible to all players. PvP: PvP is an intrinsic part of Rust. Kill or be killed. Dying is a real risk, and you can never predict the outcome of a fight. Also dying means you lose 50% of your money (25% goes to the victor of the fight). Survival is winning. Building: Building materials drop often, especially during Air Drops, encouraging builders to build bigger and better. Metal Building Parts Blueprints drop making it easier to build in metal (one of the few servers that drop Blueprints for Metal Building Parts!). I want a builder's paradise. Raiding: By keeping C4 limited, raids mean something. Raids should be planned and executed, with real danger. With the drop rate and ease of crafting C4 in the default configuration, almost every building is raided nightly. This is why I limit C4 in the world. When you pick a target to raid, you mean it. You don't just grab a couple of stacks of C4 and pop a bunch of doors just to see what you find anymore. Admin: I have been playing MMO games since Ultima Online in 1997. In that time I have been the GM of several successful guilds. As a server admin, I feel my job is to simply provide the environment, and see where the players take it. I will not interfere with gameplay, teleport, or provide items to players, even my friends. An exception to this is if you have a new player joining you, I will provide a one time teleport to bring them to you upon request. I am also a player in this game, I can be killed or raided just like everyone else. I only use what I earn through normal gameplay. You won't find me running around in full Kevlar shooting limitless ammo from an M4 while you try to kill me with a stone hatchet. I feel the Admin powers are only to be used to handle server issues, or to deal with hackers/cheaters/griefers. If you ever need anything simply ask for Admin, I am often watching chat through the admin tool even if I am not in the game. Game Masters: As the server grows, I may appoint Game Masters to help with administration of the server. Game masters will be limited in scope to handing issues and hackers. Game Masters will not have Godmode or the ability to spawn items. Future Plans - Events: I plan to run regular events once the server population grows to support them. - Mumble Server - Limited Sleepers - Community Website - Additional Server balancing - Limited wipes.. but if we need to wipe we will... this is Alpha after all.
