Found a new GSP on Oxide forum: http://www.gameservers.com/game_servers/rust.php
Price are very cheaper: $12 for 50 slots. Any review ?
And how about the quality?
Yea for $12 I don't expect much, but god knows people will be here bitching about a lack of DDoS protection...
Just to be ahead of the curve: What did you really think $12 a month was going to get you?
Garry,
Please allow NFO servers to host Rust servers. They are very reliable, responsive to their customers, and have been in the business a long time. I have tried every provider under the sun over the years and no one compares to NFO. As a Facepunch customer, I am asking you to please grant them this request.
Respectfully,
Saberghost
Actually its $9.95 if you remove the voice server :) Thanks for sharing I may switch to them after my current plan expires. That's twice as cheap as FPS players. They have a lot more server locations to choose from as well.

Wrong place to ask that.
At that price I might as well buy one and give you the IP to test it, if it sucks balls, it was only $10.

Before you buy they have a bunch of demo servers on this page! http://www.gameservers.com/game_servers/rust.php

They have demo servers? hmmm... might be worth checking out... I mean, for $10 there's not a lot to lose lol.

I never trust demo servers.
They put more effort into these while the actual servers are not working this good. :v:

Could be true, but again... $10. :zoid:
Well the demo server I was on had 35+ people. No lag noticeable, I only played a few minutes. Then again wyvyrias could be right. Also could be a pr scheme to get traffic to their site then a few months down the road they bump up the price to $20+ a server. I might just throw some cash at them, give you guys the IP of an actual server.
Edit: Threw some money @ them, pretty doubtful, but we'll see. Server is in pending status now.
Keep in mind they currently don't support oxide YET, but it looks like they plan too soon! https://twitter.com/gameservers_com/status/436902465905385473

No sweat off my sack. (that sounds more harsh than I mean it to lol)
I always play vanilla anyways so no biggie there. I think I'll pick one up tonight, even if just to see how long it takes them to set up a new server.
Okay, it's up. Try it out, have fun.

Edit: Been playing for 15 minutes or so, no lag, but I'm only one on here.
I started a thread today about server performance and it got zero traction. I want more expensive GSPs, not cheaper. We need a GSP providing a premium experience (read: more resources, less severs per host), not more ultra cheap providers.
Totaly agree with you Tex. Better machines with more power, even if it cost more.
I rather pay 100$ for a 50 slot machine which works, than these, tested all the demo servers. All suck.

Gameservers uses choopa which actually has pretty decent ddos protection, you'd be more inclined to find overpopulated servers.
You might want to wait until they get their mod situation fixed. Rust ++ Available on first day owning the server and then they removed it. They said in advert ability to run mod(s) etc. That is not the case. No Oxide which is what i need to run the server the way i want it. It is basically running in a vanilla mode right now. I do have 8-10 regular players in just 2 days and they all say they have no lag at all ever. So that is good. I love that they are on gameserver.com because my BF4 server is there but I should have waiting before the purchase of the RUST server
Actually its $9.95 if you remove the voice server :) Thanks for sharing I may switch to them after my current plan expires. My ping to one of their 60 slot New York servers was 68. They had about 33 players online at the time too. I currently get about 90 to 110 ping to my current network server I rented from FPS players. Keep in mind, I live in Florida.
Good God this smacks of payoff. So I guess the GoDaddy of game servers payed big time to get there filthy mitts on this one.
Funny thing is though they are the laughing stock of GSP's with just about the worst network security ( just wait till some skiddie gets pissed off, you'll see their network at work?.....or shall I say not working....can you say null route) of any provider, but on this list of RSP's they will be "the best".
Funny how that happens.

:words:
Nice hows the weather in Florida? Well ive tested their Australian servers, keep in mind, I dont live in Florida.
Its horrible, Running the 12/ for 50 slot one right now and everyone lags.
I've actually heard a lot of good things about these guys... not sure why you're having an issue.
Most servers get lag and rubberbanding, it's hard to tell if its root cause is the game itself or the server host.
Also, I miss CN.Kane. lol
My Rust server is hosted by Gameservers.com. They are great value! I have no issues to speak of at this moment. I did have one issue in setup and submitted a support ticket, it was answered and the problem solved in a matter of minutes..
Excellent support, fast speeds, good gear... No complaints what so ever.
I recommend them!
I'm having a good time playing on servers hosted by these guys.
They seem to use Choopa who peer directly with my UK ISP. So I'm getting great pings to their east coast servers.
I can even venture out to their US central servers, that peering for me goes through nlayer and despite a big bump in ping still zero lag.
The network performance is blowing away most of the crappy EU servers I have invested time on.
Its night and day performance difference and its a seriously sad reflection on the current GSP situation when I get a much better playing experience half way across than world than I do within all of Europe.
Been using gameservers.com on and off for probably seven years or so, they're just your average host. Nothing special, nothing too bad. Occasionally you'll get random lag but nothing too bad and it goes away fast. Their support team sucks ass though, buncha lazy neckbeards.
