Dear community, I've been playing Rust for a week now and I love it, despite of the hackers. Now I'm 30 years old and about 10-15 years ago I played a game called Ultima Online, and every time i play this game I think about Ultima Online because it has so many similarity's It also had some great features this game could benefit from. For people that do not know Ultima Online, it was one of the first MMO's ever made, it had a lot of private servers like Rust and 1 main server. People could gather resources craft their own houses, armor, weapons, much like rust only in a fantasy setting. You could also become "PK" (they used a karma system, if you killed other players your karma dropped and you couldn't enter safe towns anymore where there where guards) -- and they could loot your stuff or vica versa. So one of the features Ultima Online had that I would like to talk about was the placement system. In Ultima Online you could craft all kinds of decorations, and find these decorations on monsters, and you could .lock an item in place, and only you could then .unlock it to move it again. I think Rust would benefit from such an option. Secondary Ultima Online had a Dye system. Basically you could wear robes and doublets and skirts and sashes, made of cloth, and you could dye these items to any color you wished. This of course was great for guilds to identify themselves with. I also had an idea myself, Currently I notice we have stone in abundance... I mean just too many stone, nothing to do with it. Also we have that currently people are building 100000 pillars around their houses to protect their houses from raids... So I was thinking -- what if we could use stone to create pavement ONTO foundations -- and you can not build on pavement? This way we can use stone to protect the surrounding of our houses.... create ''roads'' while at the same time reduce the amount of stone that's just sitting in chests being useless. Also -- airdrops. Currently the richer players who can afford going to airdrops with full gear just get richer, I personally think airdrops should stop dropping resources used in crafting C4 or C4, instead it should drop plans you can study to make your own C4 and explosives, and I think plans should require a workbench to be learned. (This way you keep the, omg i got c4, got to get to home safely aspect of the game we all so adore and you can control the rarity of certain items better). Airdrops would also be great for dropping cosmetics like rare dye colors for guilds to use to represent themselves, adding another layer of endgame to Rust. If these changes would be made I would also suggest removing research kits, or making them significantly rarer. The reason I think airdrops should only drop plans for c4 is to make airdrops less attractive for rich players so the newer players stand a better chance... Anyways that's all I got feedback wise for now, keep up the good work! See you in Rust! And let me know what you think!
