For the devs, this is not complaining nor a flame thread, I just want you to read this.
Now let's begin,
first I would like to say that I'm not trying to get on anyone's case, belittle your efforts, or flame you all in any way,
and I have a very very deep respect for the things you have accomplished and what you are all doing. But honestly
how hard is it to put out a stable build of the server and have a privately run dev build.
The last week has been HELL for the players. First the render bug, then the random lag spikes, then the random
crashes, THEN the render bug again;
all of these bugs were GAME BREAKING and left the players with nothing to do. Now I know that this is Alpha
don't get me wrong, I understand the alpha process and everything but you honestly don't need 60 people
spamming forums and github with bug reports for bugs that would take anyone 5 minutes of playtime to
notice. We want the devs to be pumping out new content like cars and new building materials not stumbling over
render bugs and infinite timer loops.
Once again don't get me wrong, I give mad props to the team and their efforts,
and I'm a comp sci major so I understand the difficulty of working on huge projects such as this AND I understand unity
can be a POS sometimes, but I also know that from a players perspective some of whom dumped 255$ into this game,
this is not the way to go about delivering changes. So in the end I'm probably going to be flamed to hell because I'm
ragging on an alpha product, but I just want you devs to know how we feel.
Thanks again and hopefully the render bug
will be fixed soon.

"this is not complaining nor a flame thread, I just want you to read this. "
Why not just say "I want to bitch." Much shorter and right to the point.
Try reading, it'll help you with future confusion.
I don't want to flame you, because I'm not a flamer, but let me explain some things to you:
You're supposed to test the game and give feedback on bugs and such, don't complain when people are posting the bug reports and actually are giving feedback, as this is not a game yet and you're a tester
For those of you who bought the game for 255$, Garry once said " We never pulled out a gun to your head and made you buy the game " It's your responsibility to use your money how you want.
Also, pumping out new content is great, but I'd rather be able to actually play the game with as little as possible bugs than have a game with a lot of content but unable to do so because of bugs.
"Honestly how hard is it to put a stable build of the server and have a privately run dev build" we're playing on their dev build, we're testing it and it's our priviledge to get early access along with the full game.
it's an alpha, these problems happen.
Also 60 people spamming the forums and github for a bug problem is actually helpful.
it lets the developers know which bug is happening for the majority of the players, where as if one person is reporting that something happened to them alone, it may only be on their end or not game breaking enough to where it's constantly a problem for the mass of players.
kind of a rude post.
It would have sufficed to just say:
"please add features and changes to an experimental build and keep the most recent working build available".
Even though this post is kind of stupid, you've got to admire his grammar, punctuation, and just this topic, looks so neat, you're a good writer

It is always good etiquette to have a private dev build regardless of the state your product is in. And it is not a privilege to get early access, we paid to get early access, that's like saying the baker allows you to eat cake you bought. Now they could shut it down to testers because a "privilege" can be taken away, but they wont because once again people bought it for early access. Posting bug reports is fine but I was just suggesting that the devs follow basic protocol and test on localhost first before committing as the less obvious bugs would be easier to find. With things like the render bug people would just assume that was the root cause and completely ignore it. I didn't post this to get all the pissy 1000 post kids all riled up, I just think things like this should never happen, let alone constant streams of them.

it kind of is a priviledge to get early access, the devs can just make you wait, but they decided to make it semi-private. I agree with the baker allows you to eat the cake you bought thing, but it's also your responsibility on how you use your money. you could have waited for the rate to slow down and get it for around 100 or less. Making it LocalHost can waste more money than intended, showing rollbacks.
Hi, i just want to let you know you are retarded :)
" honestly how hard is it to put out a stable build of the server and have a privately run dev build."
its not very hard. but its easier for them to release builds and let the ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS ALPHA TESTERS
test the game as thats why they let
ALPHA TESTERS
ALPHA TESTERS
ALPHA TESTERS
play so they can test the game..
i think they use Alpha testers as people to test a developing game and find the bugs in their builds.
And you ^^ can hate on my post all you want, or call it dumb, but you are ultimately the ones who are ignorant as you don't understand basic procedures when it comes to delivering programs to any scaled groups of individuals. You don't see the forest for the tree's, you just instantly label my post as bitching when I am ultimately giving constructive criticism to the development process of this game. If all this forum is is a group of garry fanbois who ostracize the first critique to hit the threads then I have come to the wrong place and I'll play the game without another peep. I will say that I think Garry and Pat and all of them are really great people who are doing great things, but I stand by what I said earlier.

i'm going to have to go with trickyty this time, all you did was call him a retard and spam that, if you're going to disagree with something atleast point out facts why.

"With things like the render bug people would just assume that was the root cause and completely ignore it. "
What I said earlier implied that perhaps less obvious bugs would never be found because people would assume it was the render bug.
To be fair, when they added a price tag to the "alpha" tester label that so many fanboys want to call it, then they should at least give us some kind of break, the game was working perfectly all day today but just like clockwork around 2am my time the game screws up and my night is cut short once again.
I understand they are fixing and adding things to the game, but they should maybe fix and not add anything just for a few days, ya know take a chill out and let us just play a somewhat working game before readding game breaking code.
The fact the game is based on a web browser is annoying enough let alone we rarely ever get to see any real patch notes or fixes, just the odd post on the front page. A few days, that's all we would like, give the dog a bone, you did after all charge us.

really, the look at me I'm clever post isn't very clever. Let's consider the fact that majority of the player base in Rust would not qualify as Alpha tester's in any game that did not come with a price tag so please stop trolling, thanks.
