So as we all know, when you go and click Play Rust on Steam, you get to choose between "Play Rust" or "Rust Legacy".
My question is simple, will these 2 choices soon become 1 choice?
What's the deal here really? Is facepunch completely giving up on Legacy and moving onto the New Rust?
I play Legacy because my PC can still handle it, unlike the new Rust that is just way to laggy for me (bad PC).
Also there are no European servers on Legacy, just 'Merican.
Have you seen any major differences between the two versions of Rust?
Legacy has been dead for months. Think of Legacy like a test version of what they want to do. The current version is very close to being what Legacy was, but yea, your may have to upgrade you PC :(
Yes, I do see major differences between the two. Honestly, I like the ideas in the current version, the new weapons like a spear, but I like Legacy better. Legacy was a raw survival style, this whole new thing with fancy beaches and palms, some unusual tools and weapons...is too far.
I know that my word won't reach any developer to get back to Legacy, but just putting my opinion out there. I know that when I paid for the game, I agreed to changes that game might have. Maybe I regret that now.

I used to feel the same way, but they've just begun reintroducing some of the stuff that made Legacy good. Legacy was great, it was fun, but it was limited. The current iteration will be much better I think.
I think the largest issue, by far, will be how they balance raiding. While I am not a fan of it, I do see what would happen if no raiding at all were possible; we would be left with everyone in their safe houses shooting at the few newbies scrounging for resources.
IMO, raiding should be made very difficult. No fun spending days building a nice house and getting resources, and then having it reduced to nothing.
I would like to see much smaller cupboard areas with nearly impenetrable walls. Make the door the only weakness. That way somebody can get in, steal all your stuff, but not completely destroy the home when they leave.
Ok, so I have been into the game for maybe like 1-2 hours (talking about New Rust), and it's actually good. The building process is much easier when you can just expand your house whenever you want, there are no more miss-placed pillars on your foundation that cannot be removed :D
Allot of things simplified and now I can build my house in peace without turning my back every 5 seconds.
