SLI Surround Massive Performance Hit With Latest Update

Hi all,
I run three monitors in a SLI surround array. Since the update to unity 5.1, the game's performance has been affected massively! It's ok when running on one monitor, but when I switch to 3 weird things are happening. I'm getting reasonable frame rates, but response times are massivly off. mouse lag... game it pretty much unplayable.
When I start the game, it takes longer to get into the initial launch window and the computer is very laggy for a few seconds (all this is new). Whats weird, it when I play another game, that game doesn't start using SLI. I have to run two different games for them to start using SLI again. This only happens when I run rust.
Any ideas???
Rust doesn't properly support SLI yet.
yes I know, but it's behaving MUCH differently that it did before. It's ok if I SLI on one monitor, it's just when I enable all 3.
