Hey Guys,
just wondering what is happening to Rust at the moment.
Long time ago since i played last time, about 3 weeks - now i wanted to start and saw nobody is playing, empty servers, 3 weeks no Update ?!
Whats wrong, is Rust abandoned by Gary and his team?
I remember the times when i play 4 weeks without break and had so much fun, Rust has so much addictive potential ... So sad :(

Read the first article and maybe even the second. They are completely redoing most of the code so content can come much quicker. The next patch will come in about a month and will feature some major game changers such as a new UI, not just a few new items like the last bunch of updates. After this update features will come a lot quicker as they can move towards primarily making new systems rather then re-writing the old ones.

I find it sad that you do not bother to look into what the Devs are doing but you're more than willing to create an account to have a moan.
I think the "3 weeks no Update ?!" is the best thing the devs have done. They need to slightly derail this hype train so expectations get set at a more sensible level. What they have achieved in such little time with such a little team is incredible.
In order to build something truly stunning you need a solid cornerstone (Code) if you don't have that, the more you add and the more you patchwork you do to make things suffice the less performance, stability and quality you will get.
Give them a chance to get stuff right.

if they dont do update soon very soon , I think if I am choosen for the alpha I switch to the game

The rust section of facepunch has definauntly been decreased, a couple of months ago, there would usually be about 1000 users reading into the mega thread, now, theres about 200, Same as to what happened with starbound about mods. I Find it frustrating, but that 200 or so users are dedicated cavemen. As soon as the new few patches come out, We will be ready. And then the players will come swarming back in.

server been deserted is real !! game start to suck real bad to bad i had so much hope for it

Just cause the SERVER you play on died does not mean the game its self is having problems its just that server. I do not think a little under 30k people are just idle in rust all day they are most likely just on a different server guys.
Too many hackers unless you pay $30 a month for cheats the game is garbage.

You know what helps is complaining about to many hackers then in the same post provide a link for people to get the hacks you are complaining about. Great job man keep up the good work.
I think a lot of ppl are staying off waiting for the update that they think is coming in a week like everyone keeps talking about in game. Those that are paying attention to what Gary and the dev team are doing though know that it is still at least a month away from an update. People just need to get back on and play, when the update happens, it happens. Dont hold your breath or stop playing because of it.
