Hi. I purchased Rust on my main account, I purchased it way before it was on steam.
I was banned from VAC Banned on my main steam account 37 days ago for the obvious.
I eventually missed the game, and wanted to continue playing on a clean slate.
I created a new account to purchase rust on.
I played the game for about a week normally, and today I was VAC banned.
No. Don't accuse me of anything, I wouldn't spend another $20 on the game if I wanted to be banned again.
I'm not posting this thread to "Request an Unban"..... I'm just wondering what may of caused this to happen.
Thanks.
VAC detected some injected files

I'm guessing my files were still injected from my original account, thus causing my 2nd account to be banned.
That may be my issue
You should have got rid of rust (uninstall) before you bought it on your second copy, then rust would have to make new files instead of jumping on the ones from your old account.

Didn't think of that at the time.
If I ever decide to buy the game, once again.
I'll definitely do that.
I still sent a message to Steam I doubt they'll reverse my VAC ban. But it's always worth a shot
Steam never reverses VAC bans, it sucks even if people get banned for no reason.

Are you done spreading lies and negative rumors about VAC?
Steam does infact unban accounts that where banned wrongfuly, since when mw2 came out i received 2 vac bans on mw2 and where both removed by support :)

if you feel it was an error, try steam support.

Why do you have to be a smart ass about it?

Just because you got banned doesn't mean you have to go around telling everyone how unfair VAC is. Normally I hate when people belabor the point about hackers and harass them to no end, but you got banned for hacking man. I know you feel that it is unfair and you wish you could still play a game you obviously enjoyed, but you have to face the music. Hacking was probably fun for however long you got to do it for, but nothing you are going to say is going to change the ban.
You can live in denial that you will get unbanned but it isn't going to happen. Go pay the $20 to play again on a fresh install, or leave. Whining on the forums isn't going to garner you sympathy or respect.

Emphasis on the fresh install.
Thats probably I was VAC banned on a clean account.
Hopefully my ban is removed.

Just want to hear more opinions
Something was evidently left behind and you missed it.

If you really want to play the game, completely wipe the game and uninstall any cheats, then rebuy and reinstall.
There really isn't any way to recover the new Rust account. If the game has injected cheats whether you use them or not, that's grounds for a permanent VAC.

Just going to let you know, they most likely are not going to unban you. The moral of the story is that you still did have infected files and you did cheat. I don't think that Valve encourages you to rebuy games to get around VAC either, it is just something they can't really control or track so they don't really comment on it.
There have been examples of people going to a LAN cafe and being banned because the machine had hacks on it before. I believe if you do a little googling you can find examples of that as well. All in all, you are probably SOL. Sorry.

I'm guessing that was the issue.
I'll have to buy the game again.

I speedhacked in 2011 as a joke a few times and I was banned
is that not perfectly sound?
don't cheat and you won't be banned. it's really kinda simple, they only warn you every time you join a server.
TheDawnKiller, like many many other rust players, however, do not understand how the system worked and try to get around it by denying they are cheaters. This is why they aren't going to last very long in the community.

Well, it's funny because they actually sort of do.
They don't encourage it, specifically, but they more or less remind you of your "rights": You can still play on non-VAC-protected servers with a VAC ban for games that offer them, and single-player games will continue to work as normal. And if you choose to buy the game again, they tell you to create a new Steam account. Guaranteed at least 50% of the reason for doing that is to prevent idiots trying to force a second license onto the same VAC-banned account and...staying VAC banned. :v:
I would make sure you clean out the hacks as thoroughly as possible. If necessary, back up the stuff you care about and reinstall Windows. Only after you're satisfied that you've removed all traces of the hacks you once used, then set up a new Steam account and buy a new copy.
