I check the updates but it seems it's always "next week we should have playable experimental and rent out servers for it".
So erm, will it be this next week or next next week?

I'm pretty sure that answer was sarcastic. Garry consistently refuses to set specific deadlines, because Rust will be ready when it's ready. Setting a deadline just gives him the opportunity to miss it.
I think he means, when will the Rust experimental build have a menu to connect to a server.
Currently it's empty.

Because, uhhh, experimental has been playable for several months? There's only just been the one dev server for the longest time because the experimental build wasn't ready to be deployed to GSPs to start offering to customers. That should be changing in the next few weeks. The server browser works for some and not for others, and it's difficult to tell if it's a technical issue or these people are just trying to look up the dev server when it's down, since it isn't necessarily always running.
Two weeks ago, garry said he was aiming to have the server ready enough for public use in a month.
