Has anyone Actually found a blueprint that allows them to make 5.56 ammo? One person claims to have found one, but am not sure as he is never on the server anymore. I am a part of a small group and we have spent hours roaming the server and taking every barrel we can find. 60% of them are empty. 10% contain a blueprint. 10% contain a bandage 10% contain 1 powder or 1 arrow or 1 bone 10% contain a bunch of other useless stuff We have made lots of metal bits and gunpowder, but feel like we are being suckered to put in the time and effort to survive, only to be killed by some newbie who happened to be lucky to be at a drop and got 3 ak's and all the ammo and now want to run around and just kill people. I did manage to find a blueprint for thompson ammo, but never been able to find a Tompson.
I haven't found any guns at all, but I haven't attempted to get a drop yet. It's usually just me on, so I don't have the numbers. I think if you have a couple of people I would camp the drop site and hide out in the bushes and just watch. See who gets the guns or whatever, and then follow them back to their base. Then you know who to raid, or find outside. Try throwing a couple of snap traps down in fron of their door and waiting for them to come out.

[/QUOTE] I am not concerned about the guns themselves, just the 5.56 ammo. I know that you have to get the AK from the drop. We can manufacture most of the other stuff. I just want to know if we are wasting our time running around looking for it. The people getting the airdrops are taking anything they need and dumping the rest on the ground and letting it disappear so nobody else can get any of it. I don't want to make this a for/against raiding, but it is impossible to raid someone's house while they are still in it. Especially if they are good shots, they just sit in a window and shoot everyone who tries to break in. If you kill them they just spawn in the house again get a kit if it is running oxide and continue fighting. Once they kill you the wall or door just repairs itself without them having to do anything, so you can't lure them away to another part of their house while you work on another wall.
Yes I found one, although not in a barrel but on a corpse after killing the guy. I don't know if he found it in a barrel or in a Radtown, both were in proximity. Also found a shotgun shell BP this way. Still missing the gun powder though... And to be honest, I like it how it is. High level stuff like rifles and ammo should be very very very rare. Otherwise the game evolves to a shooter within a few days and everyone has a gun. I even don't agree that (almost?) every airdrop has a gun in it. And it's a lot of fun having more melee fights which now occur much more frequently than in the past. On the other hand it's quite unfair as soon as someone has a blueprint. He has an infinite supply of firearms, as long as he farms a bit, whereas others don't have any guns.
This morning I found a place that I like to call the magical snowy island of infinite barrels (where the barrels respawn is so fast that I can be smashing barrels without stop) in which I have found and learned every ammo bp, I got lucky. 3.56 ammo too. I was giving the game another chance cause I heared bp drop rates were changed.

I think even if a few people get guns and start killing everyone that would be ok. It just means people need to work together more to get the guns away from them. I'd love to see a couple people get swarmed by like 10-12 people trying to take their guns away. In Legacy you really could solo and get everything, but now we're forced to work together more. I think people that engage in a lot more KOS'ing and only working with their friends they already know will find that style of gameplay may not work as well.

i found a .556 ammo blueprint in a barrel when the barrels were like a plague across the surface of the land, but none since.
I found 5.56 BP yesterday and Gunpowder BP this afternoon. No guns though except the one that was grandfathered in.
No gun BP's but i did found shotgun ammo BP
