• Macbook Pro Users - Overheating

Any Macbook Pro users experience ridiculous heating when playing Rust? I play 1024x768 minimum settings and the temps go up to 76-78 degrees Celcius. The worst part is the upper metal part of the keyboard conducts heat very well, so my fingers get burnt playing. Lol I got the 2013 Macbook Pro Retina w/ nVidia 750m 2Gb, just a week ago. Is this normal or should I get this MBPr replaced? **Also, for people who have researched MBP overheating, I did install iStat menus and turn the fans to max speed. My fingers still burn. I can only imagine how hot it would get without manually maxing out the fans.
I have MacBook 8 GB Ram Intel Iris graphics only. It heats up but I lower the settings. Maybe the new version or Rust will work better when they are done optimizing it. So for me, I just turn down the setting and still have fun in the game. It does sound like you should be able to play without over heating. But the future is the new branch anyway. Maybe the current version is not polished and is causing overheating. I imagine it would run better on Bootcamp in Windows.
How long are you playing for? It's a laptop, it's going to get hot.
MBPros have terrible cooling performance, because style came first before high ventilation performance. That's all there is to it. I'm not knocking Apple and saying you should buy a PC, but that's one of the unavoidable design problems with the way they build MBPros.
Well with a good graphics card in the MacBook, I would think in Windows in Bootcamp, he should be able to handle a lot. But I don't know if MB Pro's always get hot. I can play legacy Rust in Mac OS fine on lower settings with a MacBook that has Intel Iris graphics. You should be able to do much better - meaning play legacy in Mac OS without it getting to hot, on pretty good settings. If you can't do this, maybe something is wrong. But, yes, it should heat up a bit.
Aren't laptops supposed to heat up a lot
Mine runs cold as hell...then again I bought a G55 from ASUS. People may make fun of it because it's 8.7 pounds and massive...but it's 8.7 pounds of heat sinks and it won't burn my fingers or lap ;)
Aren't laptops supposed to heat up a lot
They're not suppose too, they just do because the lack of airflow and the heatsinks are lightweight so the ability to disperse heat is compromised. Put you Mac on some icepacks.
