I noticed steam downloading a rust patch today. Are there any patch notes for this? I can't tell if it was the current branch or the experimental branch. The more I think about it the more I realize the current branch probably isn't being updated any more as all the effort is going into the experimental branch.
I'm just looking for confirmation from anyone who knows.

I'm pretty sure the current branch stopped receiving updates months ago. All updates are happening on the experimental branch.

To answer your question, you are correct, they are no longer updating legacy at all those are experimental updates.
Yes, the last update legacy branch recieved was fixing red dot sight, lag at dawn and dusk and something. If you aren't manually signed into experimental beta you'll recieve updates on a weekly basis ? I believe something like that.
If you sign in to the beta, you can get over 20 updates a day. They just push in everything they've done instantly, but regular players get it at once, bunched up

which was because they broke a few things (by memory, porting everything to a newer version of unity, and) making the choose prompt when you start up the game.
