I have a game idea, maby its good for the game. its a new map. an old city , think of the game the last of us. or the series the walking dead. mayor city of decay would be nice.

Now people can enter some decayed buildings, but not everyone. and people can build there camps in this buildings.
there are animals waling in the city to hunt.
and some lumber to get. but mainly stones to get. and metal plates. cause the buildings provide a roof allready, so you just need some walls or a door from metal or stone.
then there needs to be some booby straps you can build and place. like a trap wire or mine. in some hallways or doorways from the buildings.
maby a ingame marketplace were people can trade stuff. or buy food with metal or wood or something.
I will fill this on when i come with more ideas. but for now everyone feel free to add something.

There should be a huge spot to build. People like to create their own house. Besides not sure how big that map would be, but if there are no houses left.. then you got no home :o
Didn't they start the whole building stuff because they can't come up with big cities like this?
There should be more objects to build with, and you should be able to build more precisely so you can still build amazing things, look at Minecraft.

The reason this is not going to happen is because Garry implemented the building aspect of the game because he didn't want there to be only one map with buildings, it would be doll and it would always stay the same, like DayZ. Now the map is going to be different on every server, it's going to be a new experience every time you join a new server or everytime there has been a wipe on the server you play on.
It's a good idea with a huge city map like this but it's not going to happen with Rust. It doesn't fit with Rust.

Well, i totally agree, but not that enormous high tech cities from the future, like you see on that picture. More a radiated post soviet city. looks cooler i think

Since Rust is going in kinda of home-made spears and bows, cave man direction, why not put it in central/south america theme?

Wrong. In Rust you survive in a world thats radiated after a nuclear disaster happen. First there where some radiated Zombies, now there are radiated/mutated animals. Mayas lifed in a enormous jungle, so this wouldnt really fit in.
Yeah, you'd have to change the whole map...
If this game sticks with the radiation theme, I'd love to see bunkers and underground labs.
We won't be able to dig, so it'd be cool if there were a whole underground labyrinth of tunnels filled with radiation, mutants and loot. And, of course, old bandit caves and stuff like this.
I just saw Tarkovsky's "Stalker" and the whole setting was simply epic. Old chemical factories, thick forests, "abandoned" buildings and strange happenings.
I would enjoy exploring a city like the latter ones.

What if i don't want to? This game is far better couse of the building mechanics, gun crafting, and adventure. But if you want to see citys in a nuclear disaster, then a post soviet city would be perfect. If this game was about aliens attacking the earth, you could better do one of that enormous American citys, with tall buildings and things like that(like in Nether). Couse Americans always talk about aliens, and an alien attack would perfectly fit in an American city. While Russia has so much nuclear reactors, there should somehow, one day, explode one(in Chernobyl, like shown on the pictures). And that happen, and radiation mutates living things, if you look at rats. In a radiated city, rats would be one of the biggest animals in the region. Same for spiders, they will all be 100x bigger in a nuclear disaster.
So just wanna say:
Nuclear disaster: Post-Soviet city. Examples: DayZ, Rust.
Alien attack: American/capitalist city. Examples: Nether.
Agree but I'd prefer smaller cities (still properly sized) scattered across the map.
I think the current perm buildings in rust are fine. maybe make one of them a little bigger but that would be all. no need for huge cities in rust, like the other guys said, it doesn't fit into rust
I Love the idea, but i dont want every server to be a whole city, maybe you can make an even bigger map, have a country-ish area, a plain-ish area and a city-ish area?
If you want to play in an irradiated city, play the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
