Ok so me and 5 other clans spent weeks building up and than there's a stupid fucking wipe. What's the point of this game if every single update there will be a wipe I don't get it. Good Bye the Rust community you guys were by far the best one out there than DayZ and WarZ.

Out of all the threads on this forum, this by far needs the reply "its ALPHA!"
Server wipes are the best part in my opinion. After a week there are massive bases built up by people who apparently live actual lives in the game.
A fresh start is always awesome.

I know you probably read this alot before buy the game, but let me emphasize one more time for you: [B]Rust is in Alpha[/B]
Don't know what it means? Ok, I will sacrifice some time to try to explain it to you as simple as I can.
Imagine Rust is a ruge residential building, and its not ready yet. It needs a lot of stuff to be "liveable" and need a lot of tests to prevent future problems. And then the Company responsible by the Rust building decide that they can already sell the apartments to who wants it, and [B]IF [/B]they want they can get in and inspect the building by themselves, to help find issues or just see how its becoming.
We all are residents who already have bought our apartments and are messing around enjoying how it is becoming cool. You are the crazy guy screaming around claiming that you bought your apartment and want to move there today while bricklayers are breaking things around you and shaking their heads.
It was to rid of the duped items that hackers stole and stoof just remember it's an Alpha! :)

Besides all of these standard comments, I just don't understand why anyone cares when stuff wipes. It literally takes like 4 hours to get to end-game, with the blueprints you need to compete with anyone and at least a suit + materials to make up a back-up suit of the best stuff in the game.
I wish I could find a server that would wipe like every 3 days, that would be sweet.

The devs stated they wiped the servers to get rid of all the duped items. Thye implemented something in the new update to combat duping.
if you actually read what the devs posted for the update you would know this.

I guess they dont want to lose their progress/base or location even though it doesnt take long to get there again. Happens in nearly any game that ever had a wipe.

The point of this wipe was to rid the servers of all of the duped c4/duped weapons-ammo-armor/ and the massive hacker sized bases made with duped mats.
Question: If a server got wiped, does the players inventory/researched things disappear too? If so, I have no problem with going to a new server.

a server wipe removes EVERYTHING. You are starting from square one.
Most people know what beta means. Usually betas tend to wipe character data on the full launch or maybe retain it. Well sir, you are in Alpha. Where wipes can happen everyday if they please. Alpha is ment to test the game's mechanics. The current weapons and requirements for blueprints are not set in stone. If you come back to rust in 3 months if may be in a completly different map setting. Like in the mountains with snow, and there is a temperature gauge, sleep, and hunger meter. Is that what Rust is now? Is that what Rust will be?
Can't say for sure. But people basing opinion on a game that isn't finished. They could take all firearms away make different types of bows and crossbows and implement swords. Anything goes at this point and we can't even begin to really argue if we think it goes against the game since there isn't a concrete definition of Rust other than Survival/Builder game.
