• No Clipping Has Ruined Rust Before It Gets Off It's Feet

As much fun as this game is, I am seriously regretting my purchase of it and I know quite a few other people that as as well. People are reporting those who are abusing the game such as people like Batman, Almighty God, GOD, Jesus, Bacon, Sausage, Eggs; just to name a few and nothing has been done by the Developers to stop them. You continue to allow these people to No Clip the game and take people's money at the same time. You can argue that this is an Alpha but it's not an acceptable excuse to anything. WarZ developers said the same thing about their game and look where that game is at now. Rust has the potential to be an absolutely huge and amazing game, but it's never going to get off it's feet if the no clipping isn't fixed. I know I won't be giving the game another chance and most of my friends probably won't be either until this situation gets addressed and I highly doubt it ever will. It's a waste of our time to be playing. Why should we spend hours gathering resources, crafting, raiding other people's bases just for someone to be able to No Clip our base and loot everything we have worked for in a matter of minutes. Rust is starting to feel like just a scam for people's money. Look around the forums Devs, these aren't isolated incidents. You can read it all over here, you can watch it happen on YouTube videos, you can see it happen on people's livestreams. So be truthful, is there a plan to fix it or are you just wallowing in our money laughing while it happens?
I agree. Fixing the no clipping issue would fix the majority of problems people are having with the various hacks floating around out there. I feel like anti-cheat should be a forethought, not an after thought. Elements of a multiplayer game should be designed in way that prevents players from cheating at the start.
Hate it so much then get a refund. Or you can wait for them to fix it like the rest of us. Yes it is anoying l, but they say they are getting vac ASAP and I know vac won't stop hacking but it will at least hault it.
A L P H A T E S T I N G P H A S E
Its hard to test bugs when you dont have anything to test them with.
Last time i check VAC was for source games
I don't think you understand how much trouble implementing and maintaining an anti-cheat is. With a small team, focusing on an anti-cheat before the game is finished can ruin it even more than letting people fuck around. Make cheats and making anti-cheats is a constant cat and mouse game, you can't have that when the game isn't even done yet.
You're right. But something as serious as noclipping is game breaking for games like Rust. The idea is to survive and protect yourself from others. But that is not possible if an enemy player can noclip into your fortifications and steal your items or kill you. It's still an alpha, but the high amount of cheating that is currently happening is making it difficult to play the game and find these bugs. Other hacks, like aimbots or duping are problematic yes, but I wouldn't define them as ruining the entire concept of the game. Fix the noclipping and worry about the rest later.
Last time i check VAC was for source games
It can be applied to many different game engines. But there is no on or off button for VAC. It has to be heavily customized to run with a particular game, and it is painstaking work.
I'll take the refund, refuse to PAY for a game that has no active admin in them as far as I can tell. Might look at it again when they aren't so complacent. GG let the hackers enjoy stealing freely from each other and dwindle the population to nothing before game starts. Now what's ruined
The amount of crying cause of a bug in a bug testing phase is just fucking absurd. Its like some of you have no idea what an alpha is I mean my God the idiocy in this thread is just astounding.
I understand both sides of this argument but neither are entirely right. Alpha is the place that technical bugs are supposed to be found a fixed, noclipping is a large technical bug, therefore in theory it should be fixed to an extent by beta. However I also understand bug abusers and 'hackers' for lack of a better term are typically willing to go to some lengths to break a game, so there instead should be some sort of judicial system, whether it be a direct report system or anything else, it is very much needed.

WTF are you talking about. Garrys has stated him self that they will not ban people for exploiting they will just fix the exploits.
