US East Coast 1 Server: DOWN FOR 3 DAYS?! - Rust

Hello, Recently I started on a new server in the game ''[B]Rust[/B]'', it is available on steam for $19.99. The server I started on was called '[B][U]US East Coast 1[/U][/B]'. It has now come to my recent attention that I can not connect to the East Coast server - this is very frustrating as my friend and I were just starting to craft weapons and have a generally successful life. Anyway - I saw on an old post that an East Coast server (perhaps this one) had been DDoS'ed and so was not available for a while. I would now like clarification on what is going on currently with the server. Is anybody else having the same problem? Thank you in advance for any feedback or advice, -MaCh

The official servers are being taken down one by one, your best bet for continuous service is a community or modded one.

Thank you for the early reply guys: I'm not sure this one is being taken down - wouldn't the server just disappear from my list if that was the case? On my list - US East Coast 1 has been stuck on 72 players/128 slots for [B]3 whole days now![/B] And apparently last time it was stuck on 72, the server came back up. I'll play on comm. servers for the time being but I need clarification from somebody who knows for sure! Thanks, -MaCh

I see this on every forum and not to be rude, but please stick to the topic of the thread - if you want to advertise your server, please make a new thread dedicated to that.

the official servers have been slowly disappearing since about Feb. Facepunch and Garry have never commented or replied to any post on the issue that I've ever seen. The server starts lagging really bad over a few weeks, then eventually, it feels almost like its being ddosed for days at a time, then it just crashes and never returns. Since it appears no one actually does direct maintenance on the official servers, they never get restarted, they just sit there in server limbo waiting for someone to restart them. I suspect strongly now that what is happening is the servers are reaching a threshold of the amount of objects it can handle with the resources the server has, then the problems start. If by some miracle they do restart the server ( a few that were gone for months reappeared suddenly about 6 weeks ago), they quickly reach the same state again as they haven't been wiped and crash and disappear again. ( bear in mind most of this information is theory as they don't respond to the issue)

Thank you for the relevant reply - I do believe now that the US East Coast 1 server has disappeared from people's lists. I don't even see it in history anymore. Could somebody check to see if this info. is correct? Thanks, -MaCh

I saw it yesterday, still with 72 players, but I confirm it is gone today. Not even in the history tab.

if you happen to have the ip handy I think youll also find you can still ping the server as well.

I believe it was 184.154.0.154:26940 I only had 2 favorites, East Coast 1 and some goofy community server that's down now. In lieu of support, all we have is assumptions. I've been contemplating whether it's worth starting up on the North America 4 server or not. If it's just going to disappear randomly in the future then why bother at all, right? Been playing SpaceChem instead lately. Not as many dicks (figuratively and literally.)

Hey guys! To my surprise, East Coast 1 is now back up and running perfectly! But I still advise NOT playing on this server anymore as a LOT of people are now aimbotting. Thanks for the replies, -MaCh

It's worth it to move to others really, less hackers, regular restarts, some come in pure vanilla as well.
