One of the server host guys said yes as if it were a matter of course, but unless the move also includes server changes that break currently persisted data, I don't see why it would necessarily require it. Based on past history, though, my guess there will be a wipe.

I would agree with you as I always hate having to get Explosives research(not charges themselves but reagent as its difficult in a small team) and I have a lot of resources stockpiled myself but think of the players who have been hacking + exploiting must have an insane amount of resource stockpiled. So it'd make sense to put us all on a level playing field again.

Not sure how they'd transfer character and player data from Unity over to Steam, so I'll assume they have to wipe all the servers.

Can we all get together and agree that Explosives = explosives and explosive charge = charge? I hate explaining this to people in game when they think I need a C4 blueprint. All in favor say I.

They don't HAVE to wipe the servers, but everyones ID's will be different, meaning that you won't have access to your own doors anymore.
It would explain why my account, which was one of the first accounts, isn't letting me log in anymore. 's pretty lame.

I'm actually up for the Idea, even though if you gathered a lot of resources someone comes steals it, breaks it down or such.
It's more interesting when you start fresh, well for me at least ^^
I'll gladly take the hit to my time spent if the hackers lose everything, then get VAC banned trying to get it back.
Now everyone needs to keep in mind that it is better to do a wipe so that people can actively find those who hack and report it. Being that if i am correct Hacking/Glitching will be taken more serious when it moves to steam. Not saying it isn't takin seriously now it's just Garry can only do so much, and does the best he is willing/can do.
Go the wipe... it's not that hard to get research done and get some items even as a really casual gamer.
