the last time i played was january 5th and i got vac banned on january 11th my friend told me i had a vac ban when i went to check it was rust ive contacted steam they wont tell me how i got banned and wouldnt do anything ive also contacted facepunch support and no answer since lovely support figured id post here and try to get my account unbanned only got to play 50 hours before i got banned randomly my brother and his gf only bought this game to play with me and they both deleted it since ive gotten banned 1st vac ban on my account and been a happy steam user for 5 years until now my steam id is STEAM_0:0:22794566

Valve does not disclose what was found in regards to a VAC Ban. This helps lessen/prevent the chance of "hackers" immediately making changes to their "hacks" in an attempt to evade/fool VAC. Not trying to say you in fact used hacks/cheats, just saying the most likely reason why you were not told.

my brother has many other games on his account so thats a no and to the hacks ive never hacked on any of my steam games its pointless and ruins the game plus i used to be a streamer until youtube kept giving copyright problems

Facepunch has no authority with regards to VAC. They can't tell you why you were banned because VAC is out of their jurisdiction. Even if they did know they most likely would not make it public for the same reason as Valve.

thanks for the info prlly wont buy a game from facepunch again eventhough ive spent over 500 hours on garrysmod and still enjoyed it and the support is useless i asked them a question they never responded and you sign in on the site and theres nowhere to view past questions you've asked them

FYI vac also bans off of reports from 3rd pary sites were butt hurt 12 year olds rant about how they got pwned, been going on for years and there not going to stop anytime soon. MW2 community started this trend. Also never make an account on any site like ownedcore or MPGH bc if your user name matches its another flag. Lets not pretend like vac actually does the detecting on its own every body in anti cheat communities knows it doesn't and theres a reason why other games make there own as well. If it detected it it would be automatic just like in WoW or any other game that uses a real anti cheat. The reason VAC takes so long is bc it matches Algorithms that match a cheating behavior, IE supersonic key presses and such or matching computing speed where a human should be the one in control, all other forms such as exploits and actual VAC bypassing injection will only be reported by other players. The reason 90% of vac bans are validated is bc of the 3rd party reporting sites, this is also why they don't want to tell you how, bc they don't know, bc VAC is automated. And before you guys come back stating info that steam gives you ..... of course they will never tell you the truth why would they want you knowing how it It internally works? And ask yourself how it detects boosting in MW games then ? there is no modification to the .DLL or executable files to do that, yet boosters are banned daily. Same as in DOTA2, and no automated system would ever be able to figure these things out ever. Steam doesn't want you to know they employ the same tactics Blizzard has for years, which is flag you and then investigate you ( which was also a key point why Blizzard vs Bossland suit swayed and Bossland won the case). There are reasons reputable anti-cheat Devs also do offer a chance for them to look into your case further bc auto flagging is very very un-accurate at times and can throw a false positive just like an Anti Virus program can. The problem is that everyone just follows like sheep to the call of steam assuring you that it works flawlessly, even tho there the worst ranked anti cheat save a couple ( punkbuster is tied bc it uses the system). But so long as so many people are sure it works they wont fix it and do a better job which could result in faster bans and extend cheat development times so they have to charge more to discourage people from buying them in the first place. Im not on the cheaters side but I have always known that VAC needed a rework and no one looks past there nose on the subject.

mpgh.net isnt just all about hacking, I learn to mod there.. using blender and exporting and importing the mods that I made.. all visual weapon and armor mods.. replacing ingame weapons with ones I created but keep the same exact stats...

You are massively ignorant as to how VAC works. First off, VAC doesn't ban people simply for joining booster lobbies. There are cheats specifically designed for boosting that inject code into the game that can get you banned and I'm going to go out on a limb here...do you suppose that no one boosting ever used hacks in MW2 as well? Or perhaps people who got VAC banned just claimed they got vac banned for joining a boosting lobby? Because a cheater would never lie right? Do you know from personal experience? Were you "unfairly" banned by vac?

It is confirmed that if a user generates enough cheat reports from report violation on their community profile - vac will scan them earlier and more aggressively (vac doesn't scan everyone, it scans everyone over time - hence why some people last a bit longer than others)
I'd search you the post on SPUF by a valve employee but that'd require effort and personally I don't care about you
