If you guys are Rust veterans like me then you must remember back when it was a browser game without huge rocks on mountains, no wolves, no bears, some zombies, spawning with a hatchet, medkit and a flare. But here is my question is it possible to have that version of the game back? Like an emulator or just an earlier release.
What do you guys think?
This.
At least to the update right before they added in rocks.
I want to be able to rock fight the zombies again.
Also the dupe glitch would be nice.
i miss the openness of the map before the rocks were added in. building huge towers ontol of hills were awesome. The zombies were a lot better too instead of the mutant animals. all i want i 1 server with a lot of slots just like it was in the web player. Also bring back the old player model.

I totally agree dude we should have the devs give us an older version of the game
You mean the version that you could noclip and speedhack in via the use of CheatEngine, with no anticheat protection whatsoever?
The version that made you download the entire game's files from the server every time you started it up?
The version that was very laggy unless you were using the only browser that could properly use GPU acceleration (Opera)?
The version that is now two discarded versions behind the version being worked on?
The version that is only compatible with Windows because it's dependent on an outdated Windows-only browser plugin?
Yeah, no, the devs aren't going to go to the effort of making that crap work again and then babysit the buggy mess that it was. And I don't think you'll see them release the files for everyone to host their own, either, for a number of reasons.
May be a legacy version can be released some time after the final version as a resume of all this alpha open development, in order to make the old players happy and the new ones to have an idea of the work made by facepunch.

The Steam legacy version is that version for the time being. That's been Garry's plan since he announced the experimental branch. Now, "released" may not necessarily mean handing out the project files for the client and server, but their intention is to keep it around for fun.
Not really missing out on much with the legacy versions, it's not really worth the effort of putting them back together.
No idea of garry has the original code laying around anywhere anyway.
Sounds like a shit of a game guys.
Old Rust sucked dick compared to the new one. Why do you want to go back?

He's kinda right I was here when the browser version was on. AND THANK GOD ITS GONE. It was complete shit compered to Rust now, the cheat engine hacks were going out of control, people with knowledge of Cheat engine could of made a fly hack, I for example could. Even worse was the part that there was no anti-cheat system, VAC at least drains cash out of them useless hackers, Garry earning money to develop, these cheaters don't have an unlimited funding they will stop at the end.
