So all my friends can join this server but i cannot, all i see is the ip in the join screen. tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling to deleting steam and reinstalling.

Could you get it to go to the loading screen by double clicking on the server?
If you could, bring up the console "F1" and copy everything after ">net.connect ..." then post it so we can see what IS working.
Is there any command to check the IP of the server you're currently on?
Or any list of available commands for the console?
EDIT: Having a related problem - I can't see the server I played on earlier today (I know that the server is up, my friend is playing on it right now - He also sees it in the serverlist)
