Yes. Something in a similar vein (forgive the pun) as caves where it extends into the mountain. Should be chock full of nasties so you'd need to work hard to to claim it as yours or your factions home.
Or at least different sized caves bigger than the standard fair and a bit more foundation freindly so us troglodytes can do larger builds inside them...
This actually fits the theme of Rust a bit more than most suggestions. Nice idea.

Imo it would also be cool to have it large enough where you could block it off with construction if you wanted and could attempt to hold a majority of resources.
I don't care to raid personal homes, but this would give me a worthwhile reason to get out of my hovel and engage other players.

And what do you want to find in here? Barels? Stone & ore?
There aren't that much options to find in there, especially to keep the loot balanced in general. It would be a great addition to the game, yet i can't really visualize it in-game..
Maybe a bit of loot, I think the real prize would be a fortified mine you could build into like the caves. I guess it depends on how large it would be. I like being able to build in nooks like caves etc.
Also a bit off topic but what happened to waterfalls? They were in a devblog pic a while back but I think got taken out again. Does anyone know if they were scrapped or not?
Is it really a bad idea to not even just have these mines as a resource for more of a rare ore, but entrances to just one big mine from openings all over the map. That way it adds equal opurtunities and disasters. I think having control over it would just be to one sided.

that's a true fact. It is quite fun and good looking to build inside these kind off things, yet you are so vulnarable to raiders... If they've found your hidden lair :D

I dont think they were scrapped, just put aside, i think they will come back when the Weather System is finally implemented and waterfalls become a natural consequence of heavy rain and floods.
Would love to see this in the game :D
