How about this: Sometimes the Sky becomes cloudy and green you can hear some Lightnings and it starts to Rain. Youre Radiation level slowly raises to force to find a point where you are safe from the rain. People using the Radsuit dont take any Radiation and are free to travel <- that makes them actually useful Or you run around with the Radpills which would be more Important then. All in all its a good idea in my own oppinion its realistic and it fits the rust theme of mutaded enemy`s animals could be affected too Something new <---------
That's an interesting idea +1
I think any events would be great in Rust, earthquake, airdrops, patrol helicopter, world boss roaming the map...
" world boss roaming the map... " Please don't copy warcraft for christ's sake.
" world boss roaming the map... " Please don't copy warcraft for christ's sake.
Yes because Warcraft is the firstgame with a boss roaming 20 points for griffindore.
Not a bad idea.
This is a pretty nice concept I could definitely get behind. Kudos for originality.
Good idea actually!
If it's limited to specific regions we could also see wood and trees temporarily die off much like in the Chernobyl incident in particular pine was the most affected by this with oak, maple and birch lasting at least a year before dying off. Animals could also be irradiated for a small period of time, so killing them and taking their meat after they have been exposed to the rain results in gains of radiation when eating. Hopefully that would lead to small time farming down the line.
Great idea, really.
Its something that could really happen
I like this, I loved the surges in Call of Pripyat which would force people to seek shelter for a period or carry around the knock-out drugs.
This would be great, imagine sheltering under a shack to avoid the radioactive rain and being forced to watch a wolf or deer be mutated into some kind of horrible mutant
I guess devs wont read it so it will be abadoned soon
They might have kept this in mind as they did the new event system and started on airdrops.
i just posted it in the experimental forum i guess it will be seen there I like my Idea.
This is a great idea, it means weather could change how people fight AND farm, because it forces you to come prepared in case it rains. On top of that it becomes important to be careful with how many rads you absorb, because if it rains and you can't find shelter you're going to get sick if your rads are too high. Good suggestion!
didn't need to be reposted, you are offering nothing new.
only way this would work was if it was restricted to biomes, couldn't have people spawning and then dying from acid rain straight away
Devs can make "easy" lots of storm events of different intensities, we can have acid rain too. This rain should dissolve people and non mutaded live beings, they can left a chemical waste pond in the ground, useful to craft poisons and meds. If the devs want to go crazy they can build weather control facilities, in order for us to conquer them and use them in our benefit, very fallouty. This is something to think of trying in the next months, not high priority.
I support this concept. It seems easy enough to overcome like simply building a shack or standing under some rocks, but it would add an interesting dynamic if done properly. Maybe make it degrade your items like armor and such.
Combine this with F5 Tornadoes and we have a party.

If there was permanent rad-rain in certain biomes it would allow us to build a base away from most player's reach but force us to always carry rad suits.
http://www.epa.gov/acidrain/effects/health.html It's not as acidic as you might think.
but the poster said its radioactive rain, and said it would add to your rad, which is a knock on effect to loosing health and dying
but the poster said its radioactive rain, and said it would add to your rad, which is a knock on effect to loosing health and dying
It'd probably be as radio active as small rad, with trees able to provide cover, and it would basically never happen in deserts.
If there was permanent rad-rain in certain biomes it would allow us to build a base away from most player's reach but force us to always carry rad suits.
maybe certain areas around rad towns have increased chances of radioactive rain but permanent rad rain sounds a bit stupid. Or even for that matter a single rad zone surrounded and soaked in rad rain requiring full rad gear or you will die no questions asked, sorta like what the north east airfield was in the dayz mod, being a hotspot you would need decent gear able to withstand the constant rad rain but you get a decent reward plus plenty of pvp.

Together with irradiated animals.
I predict a noob holocaust. It's tough enough trying to take down a pig with a rock in the dead of night without breaking their legs and being eaten by wolves. What shelter do you go to when you have none? And don't know the map to know where the ruins are? And even if they got there, what are the odds that they'll be the only ones to turn up? That being said, I'd like to see it happen just once. For teh lulz.
