• Updated building system idea!

I got couple ideas and wanted to share them and see what you guys think. At this moment you've to craft parts for your house and it takes some time to craft them, but it doesn't take any time to place them down. So I thought what if you wouldn't have to craft the part, and instead of crafting you would craft blueprints from like paper and from the resources that would normally be required to craft the part. You would be able to "use" this blueprint to select a position where you want to build the part. About the actual building I've two ideas. First idea: You place down the blueprints and see transparent part where you placed the blueprint and you're going to build the actual part. The transparent part would work as a meter until it's built and to get it built you should be close to it. While you're close enough, the transparency would start to disappear from the bottom towards the top. After the transparency is gone, the part would be built. Second idea: Almost same as the first one, but instead of just standing close to it, you should hit the transparent part until it's built. You would need a "Stone hammer" to build the part and other players would be able to destroy the wall with hatchets/pickaxes while it's not ready. If you want to make a "hole" for a window to a wall afterwards you would need a saw or something. That's what I was thinking about. I don't think that this is the perfect version of the system, but I hope people would actually think about it and "develop" it :)
this is kind of cool and TF2-esque but how would you adjust for differing terrain?
So you want to stand on your foundation with no cover what so ever and wait X number of seconds for each pillar/wall/doorframe to be built/crafted in the place it's going to stay? Unless you have a large clan you are going to die very fast and make it even harder for people to get bases up. At the moment you get to craft all your building bits in the safety of your shack! I can't really see how your idea would work in the current game play style but I see where you're trying to go with it but Rust is not trying to be extremely realistic.

Do you think the devs made the game so people who are new to the game can "Evolve" easily? Bullcrap. From what i see, they are trying to make super realistic, why would they make a sleepers system? I would really love this building system. Since you can't carry 1000 walls in your backpack, you would need to build them on the spot from the materials you have.
