Haven't seen this one before. On a 6000 size map, the animals just stand there. They don't run away, they don't attack, they just stand there and get beat to death. All of them. Is this a glitch? Didn't see any recent threads about this specific issue. EDIT: Not all of them, just some. Some stand there and get beat to death, others run away normally.
I've experienced the exact same thing. Like you said, not all of them but the majority just stand there and let you hack and slash without budging.
This is a bug with Rust and not the servers. It's either to do with the network engine or the engines of the animals. Garry said he will be changing the network engine to something else because the current one he is using is making him rage from what people have told me...

I wonder if that's the old or the new one. https://twitter.com/RustUpdates/status/562028635323138048 https://github.com/OculusVR/RakNet

Yeah, I had this problem last night. Hope this gets fixed soon it's no fun beating Bambi with a rock while he just stands there and looks at you with his big eyes.
I have witnessed this too, (although now that you need 5 animals before you can build your sleeping bag and furnace, I'm always quite pleased when they don't run off at 140mph).
On the plus side, it makes getting a foothold on a busy server much easier!
Earlier this day I was under the impression that they don't seem to move, but can still kill you. I was running past a bear and a wolf in safe distance. They neither moved casually nor did they follow me. Then I stood still for a couple of seconds and tried to figure out directions as I suddenly drop dead. As there was only one other player on the server who had just joined and was building his ouse far from my position I am pretty positive that no player had killed me. Must have been those glitched out animals, somehow. So be cautious.

I can see in the logs that I died from a wolf, run back to the same spot, die by the same wolf, next time kill the stationary wolf that remained in place about 70-80 yards away and hey presto, not killed by a wolf astral projection. Another thing I noticed was that while this was happening, dropped loot items do not fall to the floor, just remain suspended in mid air, as well as airdrops slowly littering the sky as they also fail to fall to the ground. Can't decide if it's a bug in the software, errors in Oxide, or just general Multiplay server problems...
I always assumed that all these problems meant the server was going too long without a reset but I don't know.

Not sure if they fixed them or if I just haven't seen them. Basically I could see people around me and they could see me, but I couldn't accurately interact with anything. My friend would smash open a barrel, and from my perspective he'd hit it 3-4 times and walk away. I'd hit the barrel, get the hitsounds, and nothing would happen, even after 20 hits. From his perspective, I was hitting open air. Logging off / reconnecting always fixed it.
