I attempted at copying and pasting my steam key i got and activating it using steam and after like 15 seconds it tells me that i have a duplicate key that has already been used? i have not given my key out or anything of the sort and ive been playing rust since the early alpha when the keys were free and im super bummed. Is there a way to get another key or am i stuck with having to buy rust again?
Try restarting steam and see if it is in your game list.
I already tried that unfortunately it did not work =(

bullshit aside, I [I]highly[/I] doubt you'll have to buy it again, thats just bad form on all levels.
Contact the appropriate Rust support group via steam and give that a go, its likely just a back-end issue.
Maybe its possible that you got the same key like someone other that got his link nearly same second than you?
(nothing like a fix but maybe its the problem)

Just to say, I activated my steam key and it said it activated well enough but it didnt show up. I had to restart the entire Steam process for the game to turn up. Might not be your problem, but give it a go.
I created a ticket for this issue and they replied it isnt their responsibility. Sucks i guess ill end up buying another key eventually.

probably because you bought the account from somone and they redeemed it before you.

because multiple people are having this problem and they didn't actually lose the key or send it to anyone else I don't think that still applies Jostino (it probably could, but it would be bad PR)
of course they could buy the game again upon steam store availability

I never bought or traded anything for my rust account. Ive had mine since the keys were free back early in the year.

Duplicate product code. The product code you've entered has already been activated by an existing steam account, and is therefore invalid. Your activation has not been completed.

Does anyone know when the auction or key purchase will be back up? i cant find any posts about it. I heard you can buy a steam key in 1-2 months...

Thats a bummer man. Seems like if its not just me having an issue, then its a real issue that should be addressed, but i can understand they are busy fixing the steam stuff atm.
So, open a ticket. This is the best way to solve your problem.

ok I solved this problem with other games. You must to delete o rename SteamApps and Userdata after you closed steam. Then re-start steam and you can see the game in library.
Looks like you had a different problem, Jostino; the problem isn't that the game doesn't show up in the library; they don't even activate at all because they claim to be activated on another account somehow

"Sorry, this isn't really our responsibility" that was the response i got from the ticket i made for this issue. I dont know what further i can do to get support. Yes i got my key for free so i cant really complain to much, hopefully it doesn't happen when i buy it again if it comes to that.
