• Where is Rust going ?

I tried asking the same thing on Reddit, but didn't get an actual answer, so i try here (since audience seems more friendly and generally better informed) : Before answering keep in mind that i'm not complaining i'm just curious AND i'm not talking about the progress in the development but actually looking (whenever it will be) forward to the "release". Right now it's reaching Legacy but in a more polished way and i got it. But after that ? Are there any proper information on where this is going a part the official "what is rust" in the about section of the site ?
Rust was inspired by games like DayZ, Minecraft and Stalker. It is a multiplayer game where you and other players are attempting to survive through the awful conditions, where humanity has been reduced to cavemen. Rust’s world is harsh. The environment is not kind. Bears and wolves will chase and kill you. Falling from a height will kill you. Being exposed to radiation for an extended period will kill you. Starving will kill you. Being cold will kill you. Other players can find you, kill you, and take your stuff.
TL;dr : will the element of survival be actually challenging in the final game or it will keep that "arcade-ish" feeling, that have right now, making it more a FPS with survival elements, than a proper survival game? I know several features will be added (such as : fishing, farming, i guess gathering will be add too, trapping, the cold, the rads, probably the heat, and such) and some are already in (food got spoiled, food got burned), but will it be only a question of "more variety of getting food", or we will getting all this because it will be harder to survive ? I mean, the actual survivalness. Without counting any other danger that could come from wild animals, rad animals (i know that they're a placeholder, so whatever animals could drop stuff, if they will drop in the final release) and other players. Because if it will be just a more polished version of Legacy (in terms of difficulty of surviving by your own) BUT with more stuff added.. it will just end like legacy, a FPS with some elements of survival. Side note : I tried the game "theHunter" and i actually enjoyed the realistic feel of the hunting in that game (well, it's an hunting game, so at least that's hard!). The whole identify\track the animal down, try to kill it (and you will not always succed, you could just hit the animal and it could run away in fear and you might not be able to find it again, losing your precious prey !), is well structured and it gives such a "nice feeling" when you actually manage to kill that deer. (I'm not pro hunting IRL, but since it's the game and it's challenging, i enjoyed it) Add that difficulty to the fact that you're might near to starve to death and you will have one hell of a survival adrenaline rush. p.s. apology for the bad english, i hope it's understandeble.
I play The Hunter and I hope that Rust will have the same , if not better, environment. I love the hunter atmospheric terrain and weather. I actually get shivers and feel colder when it starts to rain :)

But yes the enviroment too is quite awesome, i don't like too much the graphic overall, but the "feels" it's really great.
