Hello all,
I have a question about Legacy Rust and a friend who is trying to play on my server. They are quite new and haven't really been able to play much due to this error disconnecting them. I do not have any special Vacban mods that will see if they were banned from any other game on steam and I do not believe they were vac banned from Rust as I believe it wont even let you get into game.
They can log onto the my server for a few moments the first time and then get disconnected with the following error:
Kicking "Steam Name + Steam ID" - vactimeout
Has anyone seen this error or possibly point me to a link i can read up on it? I have tried a standard google search as well as a search in forums but am either missing it or just not much info out there. Thanks for your time.
Have them make sure they aren't running any security software that's blocking VAC. This can also occur when Steam itself goes down, but it's more probable that their computer is the problem.
Okay thank you for the suggestion. I also found one thread commenting about improper computer time. I will ask them to double check those two things :)

Happens as well when they opt out of vac protection if i'm not mistaken. May also happen if they launch rust directly and have a firewall blocking steam. <3
