Here's my take on a Bridge Landmark that would spawn on beaches. You would be able to climb up and build on top of it. A choice building spot that would be fought over!

You my friend are sexy~ I like it. I can see myself building a home under the bridge.
I would have it where the bridge is only partially standing on a freshly wiped server. For a while, the topside of the bridge would be a defensible location for whomever has the means to take it over.
However, either with the use of heavy explosives, which should require a ton of teamwork, or through the use of a weather system, where enough heavy weather would wear away at the structural integrity, the bridge would eventually collapse.
After collapsing, the bridge would mostly turn to rubble, although overhangs would be created from the debris and the standing pillars, allowing for smaller bases to be built.

In essence. Having the world of Rust constantly changing around you, showing either the deterioration of the server, or its rebirth, would be a very interesting avenue of approach.

This is cool! However I think it would make more since to have an old fishing dock going into the water considering it's an island.

This makes me think we need an actual bridge landmark that spawns in places where the span of water is too large or deep to build the wooden ones across.
really i want land marks to serve a purpose. as it stands they are just there to look pretty.

I think the main purpose is to.. well.. mark the land. So that when you play with friends you can say "I just went by the lighthouse headed to the shrine." for example.
Looking at this got me wondering if the Road system will include bridges so i asked.

I spawn and see a lighthouse but it doesn't do much since there are what, 4-6 of them per map?

I would really like light houses to be on or outside the coastal boundaries and never inland.
