GPU: R9 280X
CPU: AMD FX-8370
Ram: 24 GB
OS: Win 8.1
Drivers: 14.12
PSU: xFX TS 750W Bronze
Rust makes my graphics drivers crash and sometimes my computer. Any help would be appreciated.
do you overclock your gpu at all?
No I do not, It doesnt matter if I use the Direct X 9 version or not, also graphic setting or resolution doesn't seem to matter.
Activity usually hangs around 96-98% range.

ah in that case i have no idea sorry, besides the obvious driver re-intstall which I presume you've done already. There seem to be a few stability issues floating around since the move to dx11. Mine for example barely responds while loading the initialization window (the one where you select resolution, controls etc) but then it's fine. Hopefully will get ironed out soon
I'm running similar specs (FX-8320E, R9 280, 16 GB, Win7), so I can assure you your hardware is up to the task. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, optimization isn't at the top of the devs' priorities right now. After each major update there's going to be a period of time where the game just doesn't run well. I'm seeing that too. Give it time and a few versions, and it should settle out. It's beyond your control.
Oh I miss Legacy. When there were zombies, Koreans, weapons mods, and the game worked.
I did reboot, login w/direct x 9, and cut shaders down to 200. My drivers still crash but they recover without my screen freezing(I can hear me doing stuff in rust, but the freeze is stuck on a frame) and nor does my computer crash. Best stop gap measure I can think of at the moment.
What you are mentioning here at least with your last post sounds a lot to me like your GPU running out of power, crashing (usually to black screen) once it crashes it regains power as the power hungry applications have frozen, sometimes it recovers sometimes not. This is common symptoms after overclocking due to overclocking increases power usage, but the problem may occur if the card needs more power than what is available.
Cant say this is the case here it just sounds a lot like the same issues :)
However considering you have 750W from your PSU and your card uses about 250 + a 200 "peak bonus" you are still within a good margin :/
If this turns out to not be software related i would say you got a bad card, hows performance on other games? (that takes about the same or more from your card)
Most likely its driver related, if you give some more info around other games il do my best to help!
(If its only rust it should be an software issue for sure!)
Only other game I play alot is EVE Online and I never have problems.
