New York 1 Server: Feedback, Discussion and Hacker report - Rust

After several run - ins with a hacker on one of the public servers (see my many entries in the hacker thread) I decided to rent a server where I have the authority to deal with them.• Server Name: New York 1 Location: New York Provider: Elpis Hosting 100 slots, will increase in the future if needed Ruleset: classic (pvp with sleepers) Me and my friends really enjoy this game, with the exception of the rampant hacking (of which the VAC implementation has failed to curb). I plan to run the server exactly like a public server with the exception of having the ability to ban/kick hackers. Rcon commands such as God mode and teleport will only be used as an investigative tool to police our strict anti - cheat policy. Absolutely no equipment will be spawned for anyone and no one will have to worry about being spite banned if they happen to kill an admin's character.• I have a mature group of friends that I trust implicitly to help police and moderate the server with the vast majority of us over the age of 35. tldr; If you are looking for a classic official server ruleset without having to worry about your hard work being cheated from you by some low life douche bag, come join us on New York 1 and I will try my best to keep it honest. Please post all proof of hacking videos along with the player's steam ID number to•this thread and they will be dealt with accordingly.

This has been my main server since the day after it has come up in the server list. I must say, although I am at war with the admins they have not abused their powers in any way that I am aware of. It has been far better than every other server in terms of stability as well. It has gone down 1 time, which is far better than every other server I have played on.

Hello, so far this server has been the most consistent server for me. My only problem is I have a hard time connecting to it. I have to try and connect like 10 - 25 times to load into the game. I just get forced back into the lobby and out of all my friends I'm the only one with this problem so it has to be something on my end. This server has virtually no lag for me. You guys are a lot of fun to fight as well! Knowing that at any time you guys can come raid us again at any point makes the game even more fun. Especially since we know you guys don't abuse admin powers or cheat. Also I love that you guys roleplay it brings a new element of fun to the game. You are not the only one who has a hard time connecting, I've asked garry about it in the server owner thread and hopefully we can it resolved soon. Cool, hopefully their is something I can do to fix it, and same we're having a blast playing this. I cannot wait for the server to really fill out. There is going to be a lot of fun and epic battles ahead of us!

25 players from the hacker thread have been added to the ban list.

Daily restarts scheduled for 5 am and 5 pm until they can fix the connection issues.

I just wanna thank Thorin, and all of his guild/clan for all the fun action last night. They siege our base last night and we defended very well. Than shortly after that we siege their base to continue the fun! It's a lot better than waking up to a base being destroyed because no one was online. (which ended up happening anyways and you better pray that I don't find you three because it's going to be 1000x's worse)

I have been playing on this server for a couple of days and find it is a very friendly server with active admins. They help their players a lot and are open minded to suggestions. I have played on multiple servers and so far find this server as the most professional and good about dealing with situations that affect their players gameplay.

Just seems strange that they have so many materials to waste on ruining peoples buildings. Forget about my complaint, I love this server.

After having too many problems with people connecting to the server and no resolution, I have been forced to cancel and order through a different provider. The new server name will be New York 1 Official PvP. Obviously all characters will be wiped in the transition, sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you Thorin! All of my friends are able to connect now with out any problems. Thank you for providing us with a solid server and a place to play! More people should come as well so I can raid you ofcourse ^.^

I've played on US East, BMRF, Monkey, alot of servers. This servers admin is extremely active. He personally will investigate if multiple people are claiming there is a hacker in the area. The admin does not abuse his powers in any shape or form. I've been playing here for 4 days and the server has went down twice while I was online for reboots (2-3) minutes. By far the most stable server I have been on in two weeks. huge bump~~ for the best server in rust~~

New server rule: base griefing; or building non essential parts that do not aid in the assault of said base. I.e. blocking stairwells with ceilings, walling off entrances, etc. Is now Illegal and violators will be banned.
