Not sure if this has already been suggested or planned, but having multiple characters with separate inventories and appearances (once that is implemented) would be awesome since I share my steam account with other people. It also could be useful for people who want to start over without losing their main character with good stuff on it. Not sure if this could be abused so I'm curious to see your thoughts on this idea.
That would be pointless just join another server, but character customizing would be sweet, not much point though...

Well, once servers become more and more differing as the number of options increase to change the game around, there won't be many servers that are exactly alike that can give you the same ping and whatnot.
A new server is an easy fix, the ping doesn't vary too much with servers in your region, you would be able to find a new one easily

Yeah but community servers aren't very populated, and while the game is alpha and will sure pick up later, having multiple characters that you can customize and make them look different would be fun, maybe you don't always want one look, or maybe you live in a region where good servers aren't the plentiful, maybe there's a server that is one of a kind that you want to play on with multiple characters. The reasons to implement this are many, especially once customization of the core game takes off.
