I thought I would just put my thoughts out there on the dev process of this game since I see a lot of post on various forums slamming Garry and the dev team. First I would like to state that I have been playing Rust since Jan 2014 and I have around 3400 hours of game time between legacy and current rust. I have been playing video games since the late 70's and have owned almost every game system out there, so I have played a lot of games (1000's) and have also beta tested around 10 MMOG's before there was all this early access crap out there. With that said watching the dev process of this current version of rust from a some what small team has been great, felt like it started slow last year but since Jan of this year they have really cranked out some fantastic updates and have pushed this version past legacy now. I think this dev team is highly responsive to the player base and although they cant please everyone that cries about one thing or another they really do address the major concerns of the community and I am sure there will be much more to come. I know there are balance issues which will always appear when new stuff is added but it always gets balanced eventually as has been the case in the past. This is my long way to say thanks to Garry and the dev team for doing great job and not giving up on this game and for taking the big risk of ditching legacy and starting over, it was well worth it, the current version is getting better every month and I cant wait to see what this game is going to look like in 6 months. Kepp up the great job team!!!!!! PS- Please update trello or give us another way to follow the dev process other than twitter and the dev blog which are both great.
agreed tho, holy crap dude, 3400 hours!? that's more hours that i WORK in a year! *edit: including my hour long commute... each way!!*
Unfortunately the devs stopped using Trello as it wasn't easy to maintain, they switched to GitHub but couldn't keep it public for us to look at because everybody was spamming it

yes realy great work !!!! ty Garry and frends ;)
Very pleased with how much work they put into the game
I've been enjoying the progress of Rust over the last several months. Some updates are better than others, which is to be expected. But overall, they're making good progress. The last few updates have brought some drastic changes. Some were great from the get-go, some were wonky or needed balance. But overall, I think the changes are all pretty positive. My biggest gripe had been the performance hit that we took with the release procgen7. Procgen 8 seems to have at least restored some of my performance making the game far smoother while simultaneously upping the quality of the graphics significantly. So I'm happy. A lot of work still needs to be done, but I have to give a tip of the hat to Garry and the rest of the dev team on a job well done.
