So I keep hearing hackers tell me they have been baneed numerous times. They said they have lots of accounts? How is that possible? Are they serious or just bs'ing?
They have big wallets
Get account banned, get another Steam account, buy Rust again Huge waste of time and money, just show's how sad they are buying copies of Rust over and over again, sad sad people...I pitty them
You can ban the hacker but you can't ban the wallet.
So what you are saying is.....there could be a hidden agenda on the development team part?

If their profile is private, that can be reason to raise suspicion. While, some people just don't want you creeping on their account, hackers will often make their accounts private to hide the fact that they're obvious alt accounts. If you can see their account and they only have a handful of paid games if that and a bunch of free ones and the account appears to be very new that's usually a good indicator it's an alt that's already on its way to its next VAC ban. You can use this site: http://www.steamrank.com To evaluate players based on their account history, including ban checks. If their account is marked as private, it can't give you all their information but it can estimate the age of their account as well.
So what you are saying is.....there could be a hidden agenda on the development team part?
there should be imo. They should raise the price of the game by 5$ every time there is a major ban wave.
They have big wallets
Lies.. They got acces do daddy's creditcard HOORAY
So what you are saying is.....there could be a hidden agenda on the development team part?
The devs have no control over Steam account registration or game purchases, and could not identify the owner behind the accounts even if they wanted.
Rust is not an MMORPG where an IP Ban(though its easily circumvented) is an option. I've said this a while ago, but most "hackers" are bored people with money to burn as opposed to "kids" who just want bragging rights. Given the garbage that has been being churned out lately, $20 every few weeks to watch people have a meltdown in an online game is apparently more entertaining than going to the movies to these people. Given that Valve is actually pretty damn decent to the gaming public and the developers at Facepunch seem decent as well, its highly unlikely that there is some kind of conspiracy to just keep milking "hackers" for money. If that was the case then WoW, The Secret World and pretty much every online game that you had to buy to play would be guilty too as barring an IP ban you can just buy a new copy and start over.

So you can't compare that to this imo. WoW cheats might give you money or make you play on auto mode, but it doesn't harm anyone else. It might annoy you, but it's doable.
You can ban IP's from your server command console by creating a blacklist.
I don't think that is an ideal solution as a lot of people have dynamic IP's. (edit: poor grammar)
