First time I tried "New" Rust I was disappointed with the procedural maps. Hapis Island is the only reason I didn't quit playing rust.
Would be great to see more maps like this one!

Developers got ton of work Over game .... Wasting time and resource ( now ) Over another new map is noth right , from my wiew.
AFAIK the Hapis Island map is a test and development model for what will be player made custom maps
I found Hapis Island a boring map. The mountain blocking most of the area. The impossible to build upon area's taking almost 50% of the map space. The only new things about that map are the few rad towns ( and the airfield is now also going to spawn on the generate maps ). You have a much more diverse climate on the generate maps. You have icebergs on the generated maps ( iceberg + ladder ;) ). More caves. The diversity is frankly bigger on the generate maps with more ability to combine elements. Most people i have seen on Hapis end up building simply on the flat ground and that is it.

I never said "NOW", I just said that I liked the map. I would like to see more maps that aren't randomly generated in the future.
Bump
I want Garry to see this! :pwn:
Random maps are definitely the way to go. That's half the fun, trying to find your way around, trying to find your way back to your base in the beginning before you learn the terrain. But I'm sure there will be a map editor for people that like to play boring same old same old maps lol
