Rust is awesome but the game isn't playable because of cheaters and fucked up admins.

I've played rust for a week. I simply love the game and I've invested a shitload of time into it, but cheaters and fucked up admins makes it impossible to play.

First server was fucked because admin wasn't active enough, a cheater raided most teams on the server. Sadly he got the ban the day after witch started a dilemma. The teams being raided wasnted swipe and those that we spared didn't want swipe. 50% of the server died imidiatly.

Next server. Admin is 18 years old and I could just feel how something someday would be a mess.
was out farming when i heard 8 c4's go off in admins teams base, thought they where being raided, but i later found out that they blow their own doors to rebuild. Started pounding admin for answers and damn right he had given his team C4 to blow their own home, he said he never would give c4 for raiding but we all know that's a bunch of crap. He's team didn't even manage to build a secure base so how could they have found 20+ c4 in the first 3 days. FUCK IM PISSED.

So my question is, how the fuck are you supposed to play this game when you seem to be fucked over every time. Its just a matter of time for how long everything turns to shit?
I like rust, but I cannot invest more time into something that eventually will become pure fucking shit.
Anyone got any solutions for this?

Cheaters seem to have been staunched a bit... I haven't noticed any in my server.
And you really just need to keep looking thru community servers until you find one with a trustworthy admin, I guarantee you that they exist.
Personally, as an admin I do not team up with other players, I do not spawn items for anyone (including myself), I do not teleport people if they get stuck or to find friends... Your best bet is to ask some questions right when you join a server, rather than start playing only to find out all of this stuff after you've invested so much time.

Maybe you play other games where you have certain favorite community servers and check out if they also run a Rust server so you already know how admins are etc. Thats what I mostly do and have had nearly no bad experiences with admins over various games.

Just keep combing through the servers. We use Oxide, so i have disabled rcon to all my admins. they cant give them or anyone anything. they can kick and ban, and a few environmental edits.

There are good servers out there. You just have to find them.

We do not spawn any items for anyone incl. admins .. admins are players and play like players!!
No teleporting!! My base got raided today.. and they got all my 2 c4 :D that's all I had resource to make at the time....
We raid also .. cuz the players know we do it legit... we get raided .. we get killed ... we call ppl bastards and get called bastards .. and then all is laughing!!!

We have a no KOS rule, except at aridrop zone and during raids! This to let new ppl have a chance in life!

BUT .. it's a low pop server located in sweden .. fresh wiped world .. and all reset! I am now trying to re populate it!

If you are looking for a high pop server, I can not help you .. if you a re looking for a fresh lowpop ( hoping to populate it fast tho ) and get the edge on things cuz it's fresh I have one for you!

The obvious solution is to join an official server. Sure, there are still hackers, but these will be fixed. If you can't stand the hackers then maybe you should have thought of that before buying a game in Alpha still?

I have seen one hacker before, but he was just trolling. He had superspeed and kept hitting me with a rock. I killed him with a shotgun and a few people in the chat were joking around with him. I guess I'm just lucky that my server doesn't get too many hackers.

Oh I've definitely seen quite a few hackers in my server, but since the update yesterday I haven't seen any.

I also run a low pop server. Mine is located in southeast US. No spawning, etc. Good core group of guys just having fun. Good servers are out there.

Same here, most of the hackers like to hang around the high population servers. Haven't had any show up in my server yet thankfully.

One must play Rust with either a light heart or thick skin right now. At any time, one of the following may manifest:

- required wipe
- not playable from hours to days
- new game-breaking cheat
- new features deprecate popular gameplay
- nerf
- etc

There are good servers out there but you have to dig for them.

I bought this game so I could play the game the way it was meant to be played. I'm Admin but I don't teleport, or spawn game items. It took me 1.5 weeks before I could even make c4 because I needed the explosive to research. I won't tolerate cheating and I don't cheat myself.

Shockingly I havent even killed a player in game and I have only raided one base. I tend to make friends with everyone and just keep to myself working on my base, gathering, crafting, etc. I like grouping up for town loot runs and such.

We're not running it right now. The server is hosted by HFB who haven't pulled their heads out of their .....and made it available to us again yet. I'm hoping that will be resolved soon. i had this same issue so i just rented my own server me and a bunch of friends and like minded people play on it now. i have banned quite a few hackers and there is an admin on dang near 24/7 and the admins don't abuse their abilities or i remove them but i haven't had any issues with admin abuse because i have played with them for years through multiple games. If you'd like the info pm me ill send it to you and you can give us a try. if you do and have any problems can pm me in game and i'll handle them.
