• Rust on Mac?

My friend just downloaded rust on mac but when he tries to open it, it says it is running but doesn't actually open. Any help please?
How about your friend post here instead of you? It's really hard to troubleshoot by relay. Like, what's your friend's system specs? Also, Rust for Mac is having some problems; Mac-specific problems are likely more to do with problems with Unity for Mac as opposed to Rust itself. Your friend is far from the only one.
Is unity a necessary program for mac to run rust? And is there anything necessary to help rust run on mac? He just downloaded it.
Rust is built using Unity. It's a framework and foundation for making games. However, the game should run as a standalone without needing Unity installed separately.
ah ok, so its most likely and issue with the new patch on mac?
Rust has had trouble with Mac support more or less the whole time, largely due to bugs Unity for Mac has. The devs aren't ignoring Mac users, but there's only so much that they're able to do at the moment when at least some of the problems are from the engine itself. The last patch broke a few things/made a few things act weird, so the Mac version breaking doesn't surprise me. Such is the life in alpha, but things will improve with time.
Ah I see, ya my friends rust says it is running but no program screen opens. Thank you though for the info.
What version of OS X does he have? I'd suggest using the search function, but "mac" might be too short to search.
I'm finding out his version right now. Do you mean using the search function in the forums for mac related problems?
