Can someone please explain to me exactly how the decay system works? As far as I can work out every structure I am connected with as long as I use my door it will reset the decay is this correct? Thanks jake.

I agree it needs a little clarification, on whether its working as intended, Before the servers went down, I was stood in my house, having played for about 3 hours, and it was at that time falling apart around me, dispite frequent use. Im not sure if the game recognises larger structures as all being one entity correctly.

How do you repair them? Jake.
You can repair walls o.o?
How do you repair them? Jake.
You take Normal wood or metal frags (to repair metal stuff) out on ur hotbar (1,2,3 etc) if you put it on number 1 spot you look at the wall or door and press 1.
I hope the decay mechanics will get an overhaul in the "new" Rust. Going away for a weekend was detrimental on the "original" Rust.
Nice necro thread. Check the wiki: http://rust.wikia.com/wiki/Decay
Does your link refer to the legacy Rust or the experimental?
It's legacy, is there even decay in experimental at this point?
So your link is strictly speaking not relevant to my question/request?
So your link is strictly speaking not relevant to my question/request?
You didn't post a question or a request, you posted a statement about both experimental and legacy. The link is relevant for this thread and what the OP was asking. I recommend if you want to talk about how the experimental will use decay, you do that in the correct forum in your own thread.
in general, you are better off starting a new thread rather than reviving an old one with a similar topic;)

I hated putting alot of work into a structure, then having to, you know, live real life, and come back a day or two later to have everything decayed away. I get the mechanic, but it kills the game for me.
even if it was delayed a bit, ie take about 4 days to completely decay a structure, it would be more viable. and besides, now that all the building components can be broken down, it will either be stolen and built up, knocked down entirely by a player, or nuked by an admin.
That might be true, but if I did some ***hat would come and flame me for not using the search engine..
welcome to the facepunch forums? i know, but as i understand it, it's more more acceptable to have not used the search function, than to necro threads. who knows, do what you want;)
I don't think we'll see decay on Experimental (or the new rust). Garry has said that he doesn't like the decay system so they have no plans to add to Experimental.
