Hey, I have played rust for like 600 hours but as always there a still things unknown to me. How does the standing back up mechanic after dying work exactly? Sometimes i end in a fight with both of us bleeding out and it is really frustrating to see him stand up and kill me not knowing if that was just pure luck or there are some unknown factors I just dont know?
I would be really greatful if someone could provide an answer to my question.
i think it is luck
There's a small random chance that a player will stand up on his own after being downed. It's saved me a couple times now from lazy murderers.
I've been told 2 different answers to this and I haven't confirmed either of them:
- It's based on your hunger/thirst values
- If you have certain medical equipment in your inventory you may also get up
Can't say either of these are true, but when I played in a group with food and syringes a lot, I found I was getting up from being downed more often. However when playing solo and bleeding down from a wolf bite, I find I rarely get back up.
Would love to know the answer to this. When snap traps first glitched to appearing closed, I ran through like 3 of them thinking I was fine. Got wounded and sat there as my health bar filled slowly back up. Gave up when I was still down around 60-70. But there have been other times when I stood back up as soon as my health got back up to 10. So beats the hell out of me.
