Does the amount of server slots purchased matter?

I don't know if anyone will know this for sure... But it can't hurt asking ;)

In general, do you get more resources (memory, CPU, whatever) if you purchase a 200 slot server compared to a 100 slot server....

Say I rent a 200 slot server, and limit it to 100 connections... Will I get better performance compared to just renting a 100 slot server?

Please excuse my ignorance on this subject, I'm not all that familiar with the workings of it all quite yet, but I'm learning ;) ;)

I would expect a 100 slot server to be able to handle 100 people playing, since this is not nearly always the case, yes a 200 slot server limited to 100 connections could provide better performance.
