• RUST Doesnt Launch (possible Nvidia Driver issue?)

So after banging my head against the wall for two days straight, I just figured out why Rust wasn't launching for me: problem with Nvidia driver. Another sign of a broken Nvidia driver, is you getting the "Desktop Window Manager Failed to Load" error massage. SOLUTION: If Rust fails to launch with your GTX 960 (or perhaps any other card with new Nvidia drivers), just uninstall the new driver and download/install an older version: http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/geforce-347-25-whql-driver-download,2.html I truly hope this will help someone out!
did you have it running before the new vid card?
did you have it running before the new vid card?
Nope, kept receiving an error when choosing both "Play Rust" and "Play on Directx 9." Interestingly enough, after installing the GTX 960 drivers and trying to play using "Directx 9" option, I get to "Easy Anticheat Loading" portion, but then the game crashes to desktop. I have tried every suggestion on this forum as well as reddit, still nothing. Tried to play other games, everything works flawlessly. Something is wrong with Rust.
Lol there's a lot wrong with rust but that's another story, if you have tri d all the suggestions here than I can't help I would just be suggesting things you've already tried. Hopefully someone will have an idea for you
