When opening any type of chest I see pistol ammo for a fraction of a second.
Around 20 seconds in I slow the footage by a factor of 0.125x so you can clearly see the pistol ammo appearing.

Yeah, pretty much ruined the game for me :/
This is an anti cheat feature. Prevents Xrays. It doesn't affect you, and there is no fix to latency issues.

How is this anti cheat?
What is xrays?
It does affect me :0
How is this a latency issue?
xray is a hack that some hack companies have in there programs, which allow you to see where box's are and whats inside them, but this makes it show that you have 9mm ammo in every single crate, so they dont know what room has all the good loot..

1) This stops #2 by keeping the contents of chests hidden from clients until the client opens the chest.
2) It is possible to modify your game files in order to see visual cues of contents of chests from far away.
3) Yes, you can see it, but it doesn't harm you nor does it fucking make a huge difference to your life.
4) From the time that you first see the pistol ammo until the time the real contents of the chests get revealed is the time that it takes for the server to communicate to your client the contents of the chest. The higher the latency between you and the server, the longer you will see the pistol ammo. The better your connection to the server, the less you'll see it.
