DeinServerHost selling servers in other countries than ordered.

Hello Facepunch.

I ordered a server from DeinServerHost earlier this week. It's being used for my Danish Rust community.
One of my players noticed something weird today. Our server is actually located in Romania, even though i ordered one from Germany.
This means a much higher ping for my players, I guess.

I've tried to mail them, but I don't understand their answer.

Means your server is more then likely in Germany where you ordered it from. It's just that the IP address is just reporting its in Romania because the records were not updated yet.

You can try a traceroute on the server IP and see where it goes to.

Won't necessarily give you accurate results though.

no its just a record in the database thats wrong, but the actual server is in germany. im from germany, if you post the ip i can tell you if the server is located in germany.

edit: you can check for yourself aswell with something like this : [url]http://www.ip-tracker.org/[/url]
this will show you details about the server like location, isp, etc. and the location on the map.

But if I run it trough, let's say [url]www.iplocation.net[/url] , it'll come up as Romanian.

iplocation isnt using new database entrys yet, your results from ip-tracker.org are correct, i pinged the server manually and got a ping of 9, theres no doubt the server is in germany.
