So We all saw the rather considerable announcement. And one of the points was about removing zombies but not having mutants because that would be a re-skin. frankly though i think face punch is missing a gold mine in fear of being called a clone. mutants are not zombies. as an enemy mutants have a major advantage over zombies in that popular culture can quite readily accept that mutants can have intelligence. look no further than fallout and the much missed stalker series to see how that works out (fallout nv has mutants you can even chat up over some coffee and death claw eggs) and stalker had psychic mind melting and tele-kinetic mutants . And they were AWESOME! zombies really can be seen as a subset .. a basic entity with relatively limited scope (ie mindless melee monsters that one can easily corral and murder ) but mutants , you can give mutants guns , strategy , culture , super natural powers, and hell even advanced technology. imagine how much more tactical rust would get if the zombies were mutants that could shoot back? or were mutants that getting into melee range would be certain death? All I am saying is you got zombies , fine get rid of them , good riddance. But for the love of god , do not MISS this golden opportunity to have some truly interesting enemies in the game simply because you fear being similar to day z. please dont. ps you WILL give me angry mutant chickens , this must be DONE
I agree with you on this. I am tired of the whole zombie thing but would be okay with mutants. I would like to see what they are going to replace them with but would rather give them an overhaul as a mutant. Please please don't bring dinosaurs. Dumb idea.
Mutants controlling rad towns which patrol with guards. You have to sneak in / assault it to get some equipment. Sounds nice to me.
yeah , i am not a huge fan of having dinosaurs in the game , if they are going to do animals , id much rather them do things that have had less exposure (like a flock of angry mutant chickens) and if they must put larger creatures in , i would hope said creatures would fit the game thematically (you are not going to realistically build wooden houses in a land with 40 feet tall dinosaurs)
I'd rather mutants or a.i bandits than zombies, but i'd also rather we have zombies than nothing at all at the rad towns.
