• Suggestion for new building part: Bracket

Ladders have driven people to start placing overhangs on their bases. Overhangs are limited by stability. I propose a new building part, a "bracket," that would attach to a wall and provide stability to the floors above it (see sketch above). Brackets would allow for more architectural options, both functional and aesthetic. Thoughts?
I'd imagine ladders wouldn't be placed on a bracket. Thus you wouldn't need overhangs

I love this idea! It would help to make some more unique looking buildings while also protecting from ladders. The only part I would change is rather than make it 100% stable, make it higher than it would normally be, but not fully 100%. Just to prevent people from making massive overhangs that would look like an upside down pyramid. Good idea!

They... they blocked out the sun... *shudders*
I also had this idea a while back and i really want it in the game,i really want to build and tall 1x1x15 watchtower without the low walls falling off at the top overhangs due to stability problems.
The stability of floor above the bracket should decrease in stability, maybe to around 50%-60%. Attributing this to real world is the amount of weight bearing down on the pillars/trusses/bearings would affect the integrity of the building. This would allow you to place a balcony if you wish but prevent ridiculous towers like DCWarHound suggested.
We would see the return of the upside down pyramid within minutes of this piece being added
That diagram is really good. How did you make it?
What i'd like to see are stabilizing cables from the top. A cable from the wall to the floor near the edge.
