VAC False bans - Rust - Facepunch Forum

I recently got VAC banned from Rust for cheating when i never have, now i know you're all going to reply with "Oh stop lieing you script kiddie" etc... You guys that say that, you think that VAC never puts down false bans? I just bought the game and played for a while around 30 hours in 3 days because i had a long weekend. i spoke with the Admins on the server i mainly play on, they said that the logs say i am using speed hacks They told me that they have been watching me for a lot and have never seen that. I know i won't get unbanned but i just want to share this with you people and want you all to know VAC is full of shit. VAC is a bit outdated, which is why all the script kiddie's are able to bypass them. You should really talk to Steam support, maybe they can help.

Look man here is the thing, VAC [I][I]can't[/I][/I] false ban, you have to install something into the game's files (or screw with them) for VAC to ban you. I don't know if you were playing with the files and fucked something up or if you installed L33t Hax, you weren't Falsely banned. Now there is a very very very slim chance that you may have been falsely banned, I'm not sure how [I]exactly[/I] somebody gets false banned I did hear about an incident in CS:GO with people getting banned because a server installed something into their game (I'm not sure I can't remember this correctly).

If you weren't screwing with your files and just playing the game as it was installed, you would not be VAC banned. Period.

The only way you can receive a vac ban is altering the memory of the game while the game is open with cheats, you can't accidentally alter your ram. Even altering the texture files themselves outside of the game will not lead to a ban.

Stating how "oh, what hacks were YOU looking for that you found my account there!?" or the like. Others try the could happen but unlikely thing of they aren't the only person to use that name.

VAC is not full of shit. But it does have its faults because nothing is perfect. But the chance of you being falsely banned is very very slim. Yes people get false positives but valve wont do anything about it as long as it only affected you and a large number of people. So I suggest you just dont bother posting on the facepunch forums because facepunch cant do anything about VAC bans only valve can.

There was an update to (Modern Warfare 2 I think?) and a bunch of people got VAC banned because one of the .dlls wasn't synced to be the 'unmodified' version or some shit. Everyone who got banned got two copies of L4D2 if I recall correctly. VAC isn't perect. No anti-cheat is. That being said, OP is obviously a cheater.

That being said, OP is obviously a cheater.[/QUOTE] When that happened I recall they were 12.000 banned players at once because VAC didn't recognize a file and read it as a cheat ,but if they are only 2-3 crying daily on the forums to get unbanned because they "didn't" cheat ...
