So i play alot of rust.Im coming up on 1500 hours soon enough and have seen a pattern in the past few server wipes.Hackers tend to be very active the first week or two of a wipe and they eventually either get banned or get bored of the game. However im wondering the punishment for someone who has built inside a rock making it impossible for them to be raided. Its incredibly over powered the group of 5 guys in the rock base have been c4ing like crazy the past week and theres nothing my group of teamates can do.Already ive witnessed this group fly onto my friends roof and c4 inwards from the top and yes they have been banned but there main accounts still remain.Ive heard of admins coming on community servers and destroying rock bases but what about offical servers ?.This is a serious problem and would love feedback from an admin of "Facepunch washington" Or someone who has previously experienced this,
Thank you :)
I believe the rock base was destroyed, there was video with 50 explosions we heard in game. The problem is they'll just keep doing it I already downed one putting chest back inside, I'm fairly sure they kept majority of the loot from downing every chopper spawn the starting week. It wasn't until their base was gone (Well one of the bases, they rebuilt that entire area) that I noticed the helicopter actually shooting bullets and rockets at players and buildings rather than circling an impenetrable rock and going down in flames in 2 minutes.
There is so much evidence of aimbots and jump hacks just from just those players. It doesn't surprise me how many players resort to it. With the map seed never changing it wasn't hard accumulate enough resources and farm to dominate the server now. Not much we can do but surprise and keep the guns blazing. It's an uphill battle especially with the cupboard change, I suppose that my main gripe as a lot could of been prevented. But something is up because the amount of grief in the locations should have 0 permissions.
The way I see it imagine if a large popular group actually knowlying glitched and wrecked havoc in the same manner, I have no doubt they'd face consequences. I don't see why unfair play is not punished but I suppose there is a timely manner for investigation to be done. The damage is already done however.
None of the official servers have "admin". That's why cheating is so rampant there. It's pretty stupid, but playing on the official FacePunch servers is an exercise in futility.
nice, you leave the fact, fly onto ur friends??i use rockbase shot heli that is truth,You guys benefit from hackers, game play time 10hours-20hours There are a lot,When you teammean sleep,we blow up your base, touch the cabinet, then back up, but you said will fly??I think 1500 hours need to reduce a 0,keep lying

long term they just need to make it that any player who moves "into" the terrain dies instantly, and make it harder to glitch. deleting the bases is fair in the mean time.
Facepunch devs dont admin their official server, or very little.
In my opinion house inside rock should not be bannable on official servers. They are the one who make that game, if they dont want people to build inside rock they can just fix it once and for all.
Let me ask you a question. Which exploit should deserve to be ban, and which exploits should be accepted ? should admins ban for every single exploits that players do? for example, when you craft 100 wood hammer, and you uncraft it, it will create a stack of 10k wood. If you do it on purpose, its called exploiting a bug. From my experience, everyone do this exploit, even big youtubers rhinocrunch, who play in team with the Facepunch dev Holmzy.
Some exploits are game breaking, some exploits are not game breaking. I dont think any exploit deserve a game ban. If its a privately run community server and the admin have his special rules about exploits, then its fine, he can ban who he wants. I support that. But on official server ? there is no rule of what to do and what not to do on official servers. If facepunch admins dont want players to build inside rock, either they should clearly rule it, or simply fix it.
Imagine a new players join the game, he is unaware of the situation, and realize the only way to protect his base is by glitching inside a rock, which is relatively easy to do. everyone is doing it, he thinks its the meta to do so. nobody tells him that its agains the rule, since there are no rules in rust. why would he deserve to be banned ?

If you want an admin taking care of glitchers, then play on a server with active admins. as simple as that. officials server have no admins, theyre busy working on the game.
I am no expert, but it seems to me that Facepunch could prevent objects being placed inside of rocks with a simple check at the time of placement. It is clear that Facepunch does not want bases built inside of rocks, but people keep finding ways to do it.
I think it is also clear that Facepunch has its plate full of work and isn't prioritizing this bug. Personally, I think it is a pretty important bug because almost every rock around the Sphere on Hong Kong server has a tool cupboard in it, but it could be they've got other serious issues to handle. Recent severe problems included the memory leak, free ammo and guns from crafting, being able to hit the soft side of walls from the outside, and then having no soft side of walls for awhile.
Hopefully they will get around to it. For now, I hope people will keep complaining about it on the forums so the devs don't forget.

Pretty sure if I hufflepuff myself into solid rock on any game... I will already know it's an exploit from common sense.
From the way you are talking... you clearly have a rockbase lmao.
